Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 15 Recap

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 16 Review Taiyo Levels Up

In Episode 15 of Mission: Yozakura Family, titled “Yozakura Blood,” the stakes escalate dramatically. Taiyo Asano faces multiple crises during the mission. He gets to face off against an enemy far above his weight class. This is why, Kengo comes to his rescue and handles the situation himself.

A mysterious old man, working with Tanpopo, nearly assassinates Taiyo with a seemingly harmless embrace that conceals tiny stabbings. This happened in such a short amount of time, that even Taiyo was confused about what just transpired. Because of this, Taiyo ends up in the hospital, allowing Tanpopo’s army of formidable fighters to lay siege on the entire Yozakura mansion.

Meanwhile, Kyoichiro silently approves of Taiyo’s efficient handling of the situation. The episode sets the stage for intense confrontations and reveals more about the Yozakura family’s secrets.

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 16 Review And Recap

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 16 Review Taiyo Levels Up

With today’s episode, I feel that we are finally entering the serious phase of this anime. We see the moment when Taiyo is critically injured and is being cared for at the Yozakura residence. He has been gravely hurt by the mysterious man who also has the ring of the Yozakura family. While everyone is confused about the person who harmed Taiyo, the Yozakura house gets attacked by goons from the Tanpopo organisation.

Everyone, other than Mutsumi and Taiyo, comes outside to fight these new enemies after Goliath takes out a lot of them. However, strangely, Kyoichiro decides to confront someone else and get back the ring of the 9th Yozakura head. A fierce battle ensues, and we see the mysterious man activating the hibernation function of the Yozakura house, something that can be activated only by a family member.

Right after this takes place, someone infiltrates the house and cuts the power so that he can get his hands on the new Yozakura head, Mutsumi. In such a dire situation, where there is no one to protect herself and Taiyo, Mutsumi decides to take some drastic decision and use her blood, which is supposed to act like a doping agent. What happens after that is something that you should find out yourself.

In this episode, we get another revelation about the mysterious man, who is clearly a Yozakura family member. He is none other than the father of the Yozakura kids and someone who has betrayed them and has joined hands with the evil organisation, Tanpopo. Why he is doing this and what his original goals are is something that is a mystery to not only the Yozakura kids but also to us.

Still, I believe there is more secret to his background and what has happened to his wife. We also see that his wife’s ring is with him, so maybe he is also involved in her death. However, he did not seem to be hostile towards his kids and looked as if he still cared for them very much. But only time will tell what is the truth.

Verdict

Today’s episode was really good, as I loved the serious tones of the anime. The comic elements are definitely nice, but I think this anime was starting to become a bit too impractical for my taste. However, now that I am getting more plot, I’m liking how things are turning out.

Watch this new episode on Crunchyroll.
