Kaiju No 8 Episode 11 was really good at keeping the suspense intact. Let’s delve into the intricacies of the 11th episode in detail.

Kaiju No 8 Episode 10 Recap

The story picks up with Vice Captain Hoshina battling a newly evolved Kaiju that has grown far beyond what he can handle. Known for his skill with two short katanas, Hoshina’s slashes and stabs become ineffective against such a massive foe.

As the Kaiju transforms, Hoshina struggles intensely, and we get glimpses of his childhood. He was often told that his sword skills were insufficient for the Defense Force. Despite these doubts, he persevered, training relentlessly to become who he is today. The only person who believed in him was his captain, Mina, which explains his deep respect for her.

However, this new opponent proves to be too much for Hoshina. In a desperate moment, Kafka nearly reveals his true form to protect his vice-captain. Fortunately, this isn’t necessary, as Captain Mina arrives just in time, showcasing her immense power and precision to save the day.

The episode could have concluded on a high note, but a shocking twist in the final moments leaves us on the edge of our seats. To save everyone from a blast, Kafka finally reveals his identity as Kaiju No 8.

Kaiju No 8 Episode 11 Review And Recap

Kaiju No 8 Episode 11 Review Kafka Is Not A Human But A Monster

This anime just keeps getting better and better with every episode. Here, we see Kafka has been finally detained and treated like a monster while being discussed whether to be discarded or kept by the higher-ups at the Defence Forces. The entire discussion is being led by the director general of the Defence Force, Isao Shinomiya, the father of Kikoru, and other key members of the association.

They understand that Kafka can become a huge asset if used correctly, but they are still unsure whether he is human enough to be of use. Their concern is pretty legitimate, considering a case of a human turning into a Kaiju has never surfaced before. If Kafka loses his rationality and goes berserk, then it can cause massive casualties if we take into account how powerful he is. Thus, they cannot take Kafka’s or his subordinate’s words into account, and act according to that. They must test whether Kafka is a threat or a blessing in disguise themselves.

On the other hand, Kafka feels guilty and sad that he cannot stay in the Defence Force and previously had to lie to his subordinates about his predicament. He is very much worried that they will not claim him as a part of the squad anymore and will forsake him. However, this is not the case, as everyone in the 3rd Division of the Defence Force is appreciative of his actions in saving them, even at the cost of outing himself as a Kaiju.

The main aspect of this episode was definitely the part where Isao Shinomiya himself comes to test Kafka. We see how the Defence Force utilizes parts of Kaiju bodies and creates weapons, and witness one of the toughest battles go down in Kafka’s life. This time, he is against his own monstrous side, as he must not let his human self lose.

Verdict

Today’s episode was again really good, and it is honestly even better than how it was depicted in the manga. Kafka’s inner turmoil was properly showcased, and we see him come to terms with his Kaiju self. Whether he will be spared or eliminated is something that you should watch for yourself.
