Pretty Little Liars Summer School Episode 6 Review

Pretty Little Liars Summer School Episode 6 dives straight into the chilling revelation from the previous episode: the church’s disturbing use of Kelly’s house as a ‘Hell House’. This sinister twist adds a new layer of darkness to the series, pushing the boundaries of its horror elements.

Imogen, true to her character, takes immediate action against the church’s grotesque appropriation of Kelly’s home. Her courage and determination shine through, solidifying her role as a fierce advocate for justice. This episode highlights Imogen’s relentless pursuit of what is right, a trait that has endeared her to fans throughout the series.

June’s Pride Month celebrations also take centre stage in this episode, bringing a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the darker undertones of the Hell House storyline. Mouse, alongside Ash, plans a Pride pool party that promises to be a highlight of the season. The depiction of Pride Month is handled with care, showcasing the importance of acceptance and community in a show that often delves into themes of secrecy and betrayal.

However, the party takes an unexpected turn when Mouse and Ash attempt to use the event to challenge and provoke the churchgoers. Their plan to scare and disgust the attendees backfires spectacularly, leading to chaotic and unforeseen consequences. This subplot underscores the tension between the desire for self-expression and the resistance from those who oppose it.

The chaos at the pool party catalyzes character development and plot progression. The fallout from the party forces the characters to confront their own vulnerabilities and the harsh realities of their fight for acceptance and justice. The juxtaposition of the joyous Pride celebration with the ensuing mayhem adds a rich, emotional complexity to the episode.

Pretty Little Liars Summer School Episode 6: Final Thoughts

Overall, Pretty Little Liars Summer School Episode 6 expertly balances its horror and thriller elements with poignant social commentary. The show’s ability to weave these themes together creates a compelling narrative that keeps viewers engaged and invested in the characters’ journeys. As the series continues to push boundaries and explore darker themes, it remains a must-watch for fans eager to uncover the next twist in this gripping tale.

There is some movement to the plot due to the current episode which was much required. However, I would have liked the continued suspicion of Dr. Sullivan. Hopefully, we will see more along those lines in the coming episode.
