Ninja Kamui Episode 5 Review: This episode again was a feast for the eyes brought to us by the director of Jujutsu Kaisen. It is an action-packed thriller anime, so let us see how the 5th episode went in detail below.
Ninja Kamui Episode 5 Overview
Ninja Kamui is a captivating Japanese anime series brought to life by E&H Production and Sola Entertainment, with a touch of executive flair from Williams Street. Making its debut on Adult Swim’s Toonami lineup in February 2024, this show has been eagerly anticipated since its announcement in May 2022. Steering the series is director Sunghoo Park, while the iconic character designs come from Takashi Okazaki.

Ninja Kamui first got everyone buzzing when Adult Swim dropped a teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2023. Other than that, the video game version of Ninja Kamui, called Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins, is set to come out in the second quarter of 2024.
The theme song, “Vengeance,” by Coldrain, sets the stage as the opening of the show.
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Ninja Kamui Episode 5 Review and Recap: Higan Is Trapped

Till now, this episode was definitely the most action-heavy as here, Higan goes all out against his enemies. Last time, when we saw Higan face off against Zai, we thought they would fight. But that does not happen, and the grim reaper of death actually leaves Higan while giving him a curt warning that Higan will die before he can even think of Yamaji’s death.
Many things are happening at the same time in this episode, as while Higan is waiting to infiltrate the AUZA city, Officer Mike is visiting a lead who can help him with the case. This new informant used to be a part of the AUZA group and was terminated by them for no reason. After being treated like that, he starts to hold a grudge against the corporation, and now he wants to destroy them from within.

But even Mike is not away from problems either, as things do not look good for him when AUZA’s hitmen seek him out. However, the highlight of this episode is definitely back at AUZA city, where Higan enters the arena to fight his enemies armed with robotic suits. Everybody is looking towards this conflict, and nobody expects Higan to make it out alive, a view with which even Higan agrees.
This fight was absolutely breathtaking as we see just how powerful Higan, as well as his enemies, are, and it is really difficult to determine which side will win. We also take a peek inside Higan’s emotions and realise how he doesn’t really care whether he wins or not, as revenge is the only motive that is keeping him going. He almost single-mindedly looks for Yamaji, who is the main culprit behind his family’s assassination.
But revenge is not that easy to attain, and Higan is just a single man who is against a corporation with the best technology and the most talented killers.

What amazed me was how the ending was not something that almost anyone would expect. At one time, I thought things were going just like I anticipated, but we really got thrown in a loop with the last surprise.
Verdict
We received another wildly entertaining episode that is far from boring or one-dimensional.
The conclusion definitely made me mad because I wanted more, and the thought of waiting for another week was just too much. I’m obviously looking forward to the next episode, as only then the mystery of the new aid will come to light.
