Doctor Slump Episode 12 Recap and Review: Jeong-Ha Hong-Dae Couple Are on a Trip!

Doctor Slump Episode 12 takes the Jeong-Ha and Hong-Dae couple on a fun-filled field trip but things soon go downhill when Ha-neul discovers something about Kyung-min!

Doctor Slump takes over jTBC’s Saturday-Sunday release Welcome to Samdal-ri, starring Ji Chang-wook and Shin Hye-sun. The plot follows Yeo Jeong-woo and Nam Ha-neul who have been living as two successful individuals, only for it to all come crashing down. Now, the two are forced to start afresh while sharing living quarters; reigniting a past rivalry that may lead to a possible romance.

Doctor Slump Episode 12 Recap

Jeong-woo and Ha-neul receive their paychecks and are excited to ask their friends out, however, Hong-ran and Dae-young tell them that they are busy while spending time together secretly. Jeong-woo and Ha-neul have nothing to say and promise to meet during the weekend after which Jeong-woo goes to get some cash withdrawn.

He puts it in an envelope and prepares to give it to Won-seon. However, on the way back home he is caught by Tae-seon and Ba-da who get him drunk while telling him to take care of Ha-neul. The three get drunk and spend a fun-filled time on their way back home. The next morning, Jeong-woo wakes up to the family having breakfast right next to him and is startled.

He is then pulled into having breakfast with them while Tae-seon and Ba-da stop him from revealing their deeds. On the way to work, Ha-neul scolds him for getting drunk and Jeong-woo finally gets the chance to tell her the truth after which she is a little appeased. Their talk then leads Ha-neul to reveal that she has never gone on a field trip. Meanwhile, Hong-ran and Dae-young exchange SOS coupons as they had planned during their last meeting.

With these coupons, they can ask each other for help whenever they need it. On the other hand, Ha-neul brings unexpected gifts for Jeong-woo which truly surprise him when one of them turns out to be a book and the other is a surgery cap with dogs printed on it. Following this, Jeong-woo tells Ha-neul that he has prepared something for her too and tells her that they will be making up for her missed field trip.

The two go shopping for their trip after which they rest at a cafe where Ha-neul talks about how they can get justice for what Kyung-min had done to him. Jeong-woo stops her there and tells her that he likes the way he is spending his days with her and doesn’t want anything to disrupt their peace.

Ha-neul doesn’t talk about this any longer and goes back to being happy with him. The next day, the two leave for their field trip experience and imagine their surroundings to be a school bus filled with their classmates. The two go back to behaving like students by changing into uniforms and taking pictures.

Jeong-woo then remembers the graduation picture he had taken with Ha-neul during which she was still stuck to a book. While he felt bad for Ha-neul’s future boyfriend, he never expected to become her boyfriend in the future. Later, the two set up a tent and are ready to eat; right then, Hong-ran and Dae-young surprise Ha-neul as this is what Jeong-woo had planned for her.

However, he too is surprised to see Dae-young with Hong-ran and the two mistakenly reveal that they have been seeing each other quite often recently. The two doubt their friends but don’t reveal anything for the time being. Later, Ha-neul asks Jeong-woo and Dae-young about their friendship and falls out which takes the two back to the days when they were close.

The story then moves to how Dae-young volunteered for a medical service abroad but met with an accident due to Jeong-woo, leading the latter to take up going abroad. This became the star of Jeong-woo’s popularity as someone filmed a documentary with him in it which made Dae-young think that his chance was taken away.

The jealousy got to him and the two even had a physical fight later on where they pulled each other’s hair and fought with stethoscopes and pillows. This shocks the girls as they get away from the silly doctors but Dae-young then apologises for his behaviour and tells them that he did this because of the divorce he was facing at that time.

Dae-young’s in-laws always looked down on him and seeing Jeong-woo on TV made him think how he could’ve stood straight in front of them if he had been there. Jeong-woo feels bad about this revelation and begins apologising while the two ladies sneak away from there. Hong-ran then reveals to Ha-neul that she may have some feelings for Dae-young as he is her type.

Meanwhile, Dae-young talks about his suspicion towards Kyung-min and how he had once caught him with powdered medicine. Jeong-woo connects the dots with his spiked drink incident and understands that Kyung-min must have spiked his drink on an impulse. The next day, everyone returns and Dae-young makes his move by asking Hong-ran to talk about them instead of their family and kids.

Meanwhile, Ha-neul sees that something is wrong with Jeong-woo but he doesn’t reveal anything. Later, she goes to meet her psychiatrist and sees a picture of a volunteering group on his tablet with Kyung-min as one of the group members. This makes her suspicious as she asks Hong-ran to help her meet the medical journalist she had previously told her about.

Doctor Slump Episode 12 Ending

Upon meeting the journalist, Ha-neul finds out that this is a case of stock manipulation that Kyung-min is playing, and he may also have a connection with Jeong-woo’s surgery incident. She then gets a call from her mother and heads to the police station where the officer is enquiring Ba-da about the burglary incident that happened in Jeong-woo’s house on the day he moved in.

Ha-neul arrives right then and recognises the man on the screen as Kyung-min. Meanwhile, Kyung-min is shaken up after having met Jin-seok who revealed to him that there was another camera he hid which hasn’t been found yet. Kyung-min then gets a call from Ha-neul who asks him to meet her and he soon reaches her location.

Ha-neul gets in his car and begins confronting him about the clues that she has found after which she throws her last question regarding his involvement in Jeong-woo’s case. This startles Kyung-min and he loses focus on driving due to which the two get into an accident. Elsewhere, Jeong-woo is restless after not being able to reach Ha-neul.

Doctor Slump Episode 12 Review

As we slowly move towards the end of the show, it is surely getting intense and shows us different sides of the Jeong-Ha couple and different sides of Kyung-min. The plot is thickening up very well and is keeping us on our toes while also soothing us with the comic scenes that we cannot stop laughing about.

Getting an insight into Jeong-woo and Dae-young’s relationship was a real blessing today and this duo knows how to lighten things up with their tactics. The What Happens To My Family duo has come a long way and this change in their roles also shows how the actors have changed over time.

Meanwhile, the Jeong-Ha couple once again dominates the screen, but the Hong-Dae couple is making sure to make themself known with their subtle and soothing romance.

Altogether, this was yet another wonderful episode and we are excited for the upcoming weekend because today was surely a cliffhanger ending.
