Delicious In Dungeon Episode 7 Review and Recap – A Bad Betrayal

Delicious In Dungeon Episode 7 Review Underwater Horrors Of The Dungeon

Today’s episode was definitely more intense than the previous episodes of this series. It opens with the revival of another party of adventures, whom we saw dying because of the jewelry bugs, in the 5th episode. The people who revived them do not disclose they were actually attacked by bugs, and instead, stress that Laios and his party robbed them and then left them to die.

To get revenge, this party then decides to follow Laios and others. On the other hand, Laios and his friends are already on the 4th floor, which is filled with a vast amount of water and is practically a huge lake at this point.

It was on this floor that they first got the taste of the true horrors of the water world. In this episode, we also see how the monsters of the dungeon really should not be trusted. They do not have human emotions, nor do they have the capacity to make friends. Obviously, there must be exceptions, like the creature that is living in Laios’s sword. But that does not mean one should go around making friends or trusting them for help. Senshi commits this mistake, and he discovers the results the hard way.

The series also does not shy away from introducing comedy at the weirdest moments. I really laughed at the instance where Laios was singing to cover the enchanting songs of mermaids who clearly wanted to lure their prey. Laios was very sad that they never let him finish his bit of the song, even though he took so much trouble to learn it word by word.

But amidst all of this, we do get to see another weird recipe that in normal circumstances, nobody would even think of eating. But because they are in a dungeon and because this is an anime, we can disregard regular logic and not judge Senshi and Laios’s food preferences.

Also, normally, we see one or two different creatures in one episode, but here, we see many different types of inhabitants of the water world and how they survive in their habitat. Till now, this is easily the most difficult situation our heroes have been in, and it is thanks to these fascinating yet horrid beings that our protagonists go through so much.

Verdict

I love this episode very much because of how drastic and exciting it was. The part where Senshi gets betrayed by someone he thought was his friend was not just heartbreaking, but also horrifying as you truly understand how dangerous the dungeon is.

We might see Laios and his friends joke and go on in their adventure as if nothing phases them, but one thing is for sure, they are fighting for their lives every moment they are in this bewitched place.
