Bucchigiri Episode 3 Review: Another fascinating episode has dropped from this unusual but funny anime. Read ahead to find out more.
Bucchigiri Episode 3 Overview
Bucchigiri?! is a new anime series and an original anime from MAPPA, the studio behind popular shows like Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s set to premiere this January, so it’s just around the corner!
The series is described as a return to the delinquent/Yanki genre of anime, which was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s with shows like Cromartie High School and Great Teacher Onizuka.

Under the direction of Hiroko Utsumi and the story of Taku Kishimoto, the series also consists of the musical composition of Michiru Ōshima, while character designs are by Takahiro Kagami.
The opening theme, “Sesame” by Kroi, sets the tone, and the ending theme will be Love je t’aime (らぶじゅてーむ)” by Mahiru Coda (甲田まひる).
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Bucchigiri Episode 3 Review and Recap: Arajin Is A Simp
The episode starts with the moment Arajin decides to join Siguma Squad and comes face to face with his friend Matakara. Matakara is definitely not happy that his childhood friend is joining his enemies, but he can’t do much about it as our protagonist is blind in love and a hardcore simp.

Thankfully, in this episode, we finally get more info on the rivalry that is going on in the school. Apparently, in the school called Ichizu High, there have always been two factions fighting amongst themselves to come to the top. One was called Ikki Union, and another one was Minato Kai.
Doman, the current leader of Minato Kai, mercilessly defeated Ikki Union’s boss and became the ultimate winner. But suddenly, Marito came into the picture and rebranded Ikki Union to Siguma Squad and became the leader there. Since then, he made the once-failing group regain its former glory and evolve into an undefeated force.
In the current scenario, we see Marito dragging his beloved, a very unwilling Arajin, to his base. Arajin did not think twice when accepting the offer, and now that he is in the pickle, he doesn’t know what to do and how to save his skin. His partner, Senya however, is very much appreciative of whatever is happening as now he can witness more fights.
This anime is becoming more interesting now that the core theme of the series, which is fighting, is explored much better. We understand why one faction cannot stand the other and even get introduced to another enemy called the Emperor. This person is definitely bad news as he was once a part of Siguma Squad but got kicked out and now has since formed his own team in a separate school. This guy wants to play dirty and hence, would go to great lengths to take advantage of the animosity between Siguma Squad and Minato Kai.

We also see many funny bits in this episode, especially the part where Siguma Squad played the infamous Jan Ken Pon game, in their own violent way to celebrate the entrance of Arajin into their team. It is definitely hilarious to see Arajin struggle, as it is clear that he will have to work a lot to survive amongst these hoodlums.
Verdict
This episode was really entertaining, and as usual, the fights were also nicely choreographed. We also saw some serious things happening here, and in the next episode, we will witness an all-out brawl between two of the most powerful characters. All in all, this is slowly becoming a pleasant watch that you can certainly check out.
