Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 3 Review: Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 3 was random yet entertaining. If you want to know the detailed review read ahead.

Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 3 Overview

Urusei Yatsura returns to breathe new life into the “boy meets extraordinary girl” genre. This anime masterpiece combines elements of comedy, romance, and sci-fi, enriched with a generous dose of humorous gags.

Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 3 Review:

Once again, the series boasts a talented trio of directors at its helm. Among them is Takahashi Hideya, renowned for his contributions to Sword Art Online, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, To LOVE-Ru, and more. The other directors include Kamei Takahiro, known for his work on Enen no Shouboutai, Captain Tsubasa (2018), and others, as well as Kimura Yasuhiro, who lent his expertise to Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.

Episode 3 of Urusei Yatsura 2nd Season can also be called the 3rd episode of うる星やつら第2期.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 3 Review and Recap

This anime can really show the most ridiculous and random things and still be able to make things funny for the audience. Urusei Yatsura Season 2 is back again with a very weird episode with an even weirder character. The new boy whom we see today is clearly inspired by Tarzan as he lives in a jungle and has wild animals for friends.

Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 3 Review Lum Marries Someone Else

He is a pretty interesting one, as he uses human names to name these wild creatures and thinks the person inside his television is his grandfather. And, it was from this grandfather, that he got the inspiration to go out and look for his fated wife. After that, of course, he stumbles upon Lum, who first tries to electrocute him for bothering her, but as that does not work, she willingly leaves with him to make Ataru jealous. Lum’s power fails because the forest her suitor lives in is electrical, and hence, he is immune to it.

The entire episode is basically Lum trying to escape this very desperate man who wishes to make her his wife, and Ataru pretending to not care about whatever happens to Lum. As I’ve mentioned before, this story was very spontaneous, with things that are so absurd that they will make you laugh. From electrifying vegetables to animals attending weddings with a wedding invitation, we see it all in this episode. But it still manages to make you laugh with the sheer ridiculousness of the events.

Another thing that I am witnessing more in this season is how much Ataru has grown to accept Lum. Previously, he would not have cared about her much, but now, he shows apparent and frequent signs of interest in her. When he sees Lum and her new admirer together at the park, he is quick to blame her as a cheater, even though he does the same thing almost every second of his life.

Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 3 Review:

He even goes to great lengths just so he can bring back Lum when he realizes that she is actually in problem. Ataru might not have acknowledged it, but he too, has fallen for her, but as he is a certified Tsundere, he will not accept it anytime soon.

Verdict

All in all, this was another entertaining episode that has its charms. If you are into this kind of comedy, you will appreciate the randomness and quirkiness of the series, but if you are not into it, then you might not like this type of humor.
