When IU’s comeback was announced, the fandom erupted in excitement, given her widespread popularity. The inclusion of BTS’ V, also known as Kim Taehyung, in the music video, added an extra layer of delight. Yesterday, on January 22, 2024, the music video trailer was released, showcasing the captivating chemistry between IU and V. Observing their dynamic visuals together was truly mesmerising.

IU provided a detailed glimpse into the music video’s storyline through an accompanying poster. The visual narrative unfolds with two individuals in a state of desperation, running from an undisclosed threat. Their exhausted faces and worn-out attire convey the challenges they’ve faced together, relying on each other for survival. Seeking refuge, they enter a building where a haunting sight awaits – a pile of clothes belonging to countless others. The intrigue intensifies as questions linger: What transpired in this place? What fate befell these individuals?

IU Love Wins All Theories

The cinematography and background score are already giving goosebumps as they are so finely crafted, depicting love. The ‘Love Wins All’ trailer shows IU and V entering an almost destroyed abandoned building. One theory is that IU and Taehyung are in love, but due to their families not accepting their relationship, they are on the run. Tired, they find refuge in this building where they discover a camera and take pictures of each other, intending to preserve these moments as memories in case anything goes wrong with them.

The next theory that I feel can be is that IU goes back to the abandoned building where she and Kim Taehyung faced tough times together. Going back there helps her remember the good and tough times they had. It’s like she’s taking a trip down memory lane, thinking about the challenges they overcame together. This could show how their past collaboration was important and might bring out strong emotions in the present.

The latest theory that I believe is attempting to convey love through virtual reality. In the story, IU is like someone exploring the streets, and when she goes into a building, she finds a camera. Through this camera, she sees Kim Taehyung, who is only in IU’s imagination and not really there. They talk only through this virtual camera, and as they chat, both of them start to have real feelings for each other.

  1. First of all why is everyone saying that the cube is only taking those who are marginalised in some way? You don’t see any other people around in the MV, disabled or otherwise, so why is everyone saying it only takes those who are disabled in some way? The dark figures pointing at them in the restaurant could be the souls of those already gone and wondering why there are two people still there. If you take away the “disabled/marginalised” label, how would the story be viewed then. Maybe they are the last two people who haven’t been caught yet because by using sign language the cube couldn’t pinpoint their whereabouts. But the cube has finally focused in on them and stops at nothing to get these two remaining people left on the planet. Please stop focusing on the “disabilities” of these two people and focus on the population as a whole.
