Most Anticipated Kdrama Sequels 2024: The New Year is finally here and this year will be extra special as it brings back some of our favourite Kdramas back on screen! 2024 is bound to be the year for Korean drama lovers as it has got more than just some fabulous dramas, it is also bringing the sequels to dramas that we have all been waiting for.

From All of Us Are Dead, Pachinko, Sweet Home and more returning with thrill and excitement, we can say that we are all ready for the upcoming year. So without further ado, let’s take a look at the sequels coming up this year!

Weak Hero Season 2

Season 1 of Weak Hero may have ended in 2022, but the story of Yeon Shi-eun is not over and he is ready to return this year! This action youth drama has been a favourite among Kdrama lovers and seeing its return has got many hearts pounding for what’s to come next in this story.

Weak Hero revolves around a seemingly weak class topper whose calculative and brutal fighting skills have got school bullies to fear the sight of him. As he disrupts the order of his school, what’s next for Yeon Shi-eun and who are the new bullies he needs to take over? Directed by You Su-min, the drama stars Park Ji-hoon, alongside a new cast including Ryeoun, Bae Na-ra, Lee Min-jae, and others.

Pachinko Season 2

Next, we have one of our favourites- Pachinko, and our excitement for this sequel is like none other. After an intriguing and breathtaking season 1, the story is ready to resume and bring back all the feelings we left behind in 2022 to relive and excite us all.

Pachinko is a historical melodrama depicting the lives of Koreans under Japanese rule; from the discrimination, they face to the wishes of some who want to strive for a better life, this drama will take you through the many colours of that time. The drama stars Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho, Park Hye-jin, and others.

Hellbound Season 2

After gaining mixed reviews from Kdrama fans back in 2021, Hellbound is back with a new season and this time it looks like it is only going to get better. Having left viewers with many questions in season 1, it’s finally time to see a bundle of surprises pop out from everywhere in this new season.

Hellbound is a supernatural horror series wherein otherworldly creatures appear out of nowhere and condemn individuals to hell. As religious groups rise out of nowhere to gain influence over all, mysterious events show that there is more to this group. Gyeongseong Creature 2

After an astounding season 1 towards the end of 2023, the series is back with the final three episodes that will mark the end of the show. Gyeongseong Creature 2 is a highly anticipated drama sequel and it is a treat to the fans to know that the show will be back right at the beginning of 2024!

Gyeongseong Creature revolves around a group of people who are looking into the case of missing women, only to find out that the case is deeper than it looks. Sweet Home Season 3

Sweet Home is back with more horror, drama and a fear of monsters who roam outside and also inside the “safe place” they thought could save them. 2024 has got the third installment of this series ready for us and there is no doubt that horror and thriller lovers are ready for what is to come this season.

Sweet Home revolves around the struggle residents of the Green Home Apartment face as monsters surround their residences, leaving them no choice but to fight for survival. The Escape of the Seven Season 2

All of Us Are Dead revolves around a zombie virus outbreak that surrounds a high school, leaving students on their own to survive or be bitten by the monsters. Directed by Lee Jae-gyoo, the drama stars Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Choi Yi-hyun, Lomon, Lee Eun-saem, and Lim Jae-hyuk, alongside other cast members.

Death’s Game Part 2

Get ready for the next four episodes of Death’s Game because we all know that this show has caught our attention and there is nothing we would like more than to start this year knowing what happens next! This show has really been one of the best Kdramas in 2023 and we cannot wait for Choi Yi-jae’s next life!

Death’s Game revolves around a man who tries to kill himself only to be pulled into a game by Death herself as she makes go through 13 different lives. Directed by Ha Byung-hoon, the drama stars Seo In-guk, Park So-dam, Nam Kyung-eup, Go Young-joon, Kim Mi-kyung, and Kim Ji-hoon, alongside other cast members.

Player Season 2

With a few new faces and some new stories to tell, Player is finally back with a season 2 after an almost four-year-long wait. The gang is back with new criminals to face and more properties to take over in this new season, exciting fans of the show all over again.

Player revolves around a gang consisting of highly skilled individuals of various fields who steal illegal money from the rich. Directed by Go Jae-hyun, the drama stars Song Seung-heon, Oh Yeon-seo, Lee Si-eon, Jang Gyu-ri, Tae Won-seok, and Ha Do-gwon, alongside other cast members.

Squid Game Season 2

Squid Game revolves around a secret organisation that hosts games involving people who are in a bad financial situation, however, these games are not as simple as they seem. Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the show stars Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, Gong Yoo, and Yim Si-wan alongside other cast members.
