Planning to Watch What If Season 2? Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the Upcoming Marvel Series!

Are you a Marvel fan? Then you will surely be excited to know that What If Season 2 is almost here! Based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name, this show gives us the other side of things that could happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This season of the show is produced by Marvel Studios Animation, with A. C. Bradley serving as head writer and Bryan Andrews primarily directing.

Ahead of the series release, here are some key details you should know about this season! Read on to know more.

What If Season 2 Cast

The cast, which consists of voice actors, is almost the same as the set of actors in the MCU. The show’s narrator is Jeffrey Wright playing the role of the Watcher, who is a member of the alien Watcher race who looks over the multiverse.

The rest of the cast includes Cynthia McWilliams and Mick Wingert as Gamora and Tony Stark. We have Hayley Atwell and Lake Bell as Peggy Carter and Natasha Romanoff, respectively. There is Josh Keaton as Steve Rogers / Hydra Stomper, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym / Ant-Man, Kurt Russell as Ego, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster and Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis.

Cate Blanchett voices Hela, along with Laurence Fishburne voicing the character of Bill Foster / Giant-Man. We will also see Atandwa Kani voicing the younger version of T’Chaka / Black Panther, Sam Rockwell voicing Justin Hammer and Jude Law voicing Yon-Rogg. A new addition to this season is a young Mohawk woman called Kahhori.

What If Season 2 Plot/Synopsis

The second season is also going to be a set of anthologies. This time the characters whose storylines will be explored include Nebula, Peter Quill, Happy Hogan, Ironman, Captain Carter, Hela and, the cult favourite- Strange Supreme. The introduction of a new character will be explored in the episode titled ‘What If… Kahhori Reshaped the World?’.

What If Season 2 Release Date and More

The first episode of this season will be landing on Disney+ Hotstar on December 22, 2023. It is titled ‘What If… Nebula Joined the Nova Corps?’ and was directed by Stephan Franck, with a screenplay by Matthew Chauncey. There are going to be 9 episodes in total, all releasing on an everyday basis. Thus, the last episode will be out by December 30, 2023. Much like the first season, we are expecting the runtime to be short; somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes.
