Dropping on November 23, 2023, the Animal trailer starring Ranbir Kapoor as the titular hero, Arjun Singh, has made for quite a buzz-worthy premiere. The upcoming Hindi action thriller film’s teaser was released by T-Series a month ago, and it depicted the troubled relationship between a father and son, wherein, the Brahmastra actor ostensibly takes on the latter role with Anil Kapoor stepping in as his father, Balbir Singh.
Set to release in theatres on December 1, 2023, the Bollywood movie, now rated ‘A’, has been directed and written by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, with Pranay Reddy Vanga and Suresh Bandaru also addressing the screenplay alongside him. Much like the teaser had already signified the storyline being drenched in blood and set against the backdrop of the underworld, the trailer again offers us a better look at Ranbir’s fractured, yet solid dynamic with Anil Kapoor’s character. The heavy-handed and impactful dialogues of the film have been penned by Saurabh Gupta, while the background music, powerful enough to generate goosebumps, has been composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar.
The full trailer of the forthcoming action-packed mayhem takes a deep dive into Arjun Singh’s love for his father, that always comes on top no matter what. It also goes on to show that villains are not born, but made in the process of some severe deprivation. In Arjun’s case, this deprivation takes the shape of his father’s neglect for him. While Arjun is ready to bring the world down to gain some kind of moving reaction from his father, the old man just can’t seem to care for this adoration.
But what truly makes him take a second look at his son is the world-bending havoc Arjun has unleashed without a second thought, as he proceeds to notice that his son has put on the shoes of a criminal. Ranbir Kapoor’s Arjun kicks off a war unlike any other that also ropes in the antagonistic interests of Bobby Deol’s character. Even Arjun’s wife, Geetanjali, played by Rashmika Mandanna, can see through her husband’s mind and sense that his love for Balbir Singh can’t be called affection, but a disease. However, he can’t tolerate a single word against his papa, let alone a bullet to his heart.
In a topsy-turvy homecoming, the prodigal son returns to avenge his father’s pride and name and fleshes out a never-seen-before father-son bond carved in blood. Devouring the ghosts in his head, Ranbir Kapoor pledges to set the world ablaze if anyone even dares to lay a finger on his papa.
Also starring Tripti Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi and Prem Chopra in important roles, the Animal movie has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Pranay Reddy Vanga with production companies T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios backing the project.
