Did Ok-ju Succeed in Her Revenge?

Ok-ju arrives at the shady hotel where Choi preyed on his victims, including Min-hee. She swiftly deals with the front desk attendant, then confronts the man missing a leg from their prior encounter. Realising her strength, he reveals Choi’s location, where the other girl is held. Ok-ju heads to the covert drug den beneath upscale stables, effortlessly dispatching three henchmen in an elevator. Covered in blood, she offers a deal at the base: reveal the girl’s location without questions, and live. The boss tries to charm her, but Ok-ju swiftly ends him as she doesn’t have time to play nice.

The movie then cuts to the pharmacist above ground who is carting the girl around. She appears to be dead and so does Ok-ju when Choi suddenly shows up and shoots as they put it. The pharmacist wants to finish Ok-ju off himself for the 100 million won reward. There’s no one left alive to pay him though, so Choi just kills him instead, clearly annoyed by his greed and then he moves forward to finish Ok-ju but then the slave girl shoots at Choi. Yay, she’s alive. But because of the bad aim, Choi emerges entirely unscathed.

However, at least Ok-ju gets enough time to load her weapon, aim it towards Choi, and severely hurt him as a result. This was not the end of the revenge tale. Later we see Choi. He is being pulled from the trunk of the car that Ok-ju earlier in the movie stole. They are on the beach, right by the sea.Prior to Choi freaking out and yelling that Ok-ju has exaggerated the situation, Ok-ju and the slave girl are attempting to activate the enormous flamethrower that we saw the old woman practice with. Choi begins to apologize when Ok-ju admits that she is acquainted with The Ballerina, realizing that this grudge is, after all, a personal one.

Choi mocks Ok-ju, vowing to torment Min-hee in hell. Ok-ju responds with a fierce promise, igniting the beach with flames that consume Choi. Tears stream down Ok-ju’s face as he screams. A final flashback transports us to a happier time at the same beach, when Ok-ju and Min-hee cherished their time together. Min-hee expresses a desire to be reborn as a fish. Ok-ju retrieves Choi’s victim videos, and the credits roll, showing Min-hee dancing peacefully beneath the ocean’s depths. Yet, Choi’s body continues to burn on the beach, a fitting end to this satisfying revenge thriller.
