The 2023 Buil Film Awards winners list has been revealed at the 32nd edition of the prestigious Korean cinema award ceremony (2023 부일영화상). Held at the Signiel Busan Grand Ballroom in Haeundae-gu, Busan, the event was solo-hosted by the South Korean actress Esom on October 5, 2023. Preceded by a starry Red Carpet event prior to the main show’s commencement, the ceremony was graced by some of the great names of the Korean cinema industry.
Kim Seon-ho, the much-loved K-drama star up until now, made his debut as a big screen star with the 2023 film The Childe, and so he was one of the biggest presences at the show. Alongside him, Lee Byung-hyun, K-pop singer-actor Doh Kyung-soo, Park Bo-young, Go Min-si and others also made it to the event. However, many nominated artists were also absent due to other schedules. Jeon Do-yeon and Byeon Woo-seok were two such actors to name a few.
Celebrating excellence in cinematic achievements, the award show was organised by the Busan-based daily ‘Busan Ilbo’ . Accolades were handed out for a total of 16 categories for Korean films released from August 11, 2023 to August 10, 2023. Networks MBC and Naver T live streamed the ceremony, with the main show commencing at 5.25 PM.
