The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 5 Recap

It’s a flashback episode of March 2020. The episode is set in March 2020. Everyone has been feeling sick due to COVID-19, but Bradley, Cory, Stella, Mia and a few other UBA staff are working from the office. Bradley informs Cory that she’s planning to work remotely from Montana, where she’ll live with Laura. She assures Cory that she isn’t doing this because of that “crazy” night and whatever happened involving Cory, Hal and her.

Mia comes home to Andre, and they share intimate moments. Bradley and Laura also spend romantic time together. Laura asks Bradley if people’s speculation about them bothers her. Bradley says it doesn’t, as their personal relationship is their business. Laura tells her they won’t say anything about their relationship on air.

Bradley’s brother Hal wants her to come home for Mother’s Day. But she tells him that it’s not possible due to the quarantine rules. Cory has been seeing a new house for himself and strikes up a friendship with the real estate agent. The episode also covers the protest after George Floyd’s murder by a cop in Minneapolis. Mia is deeply affected by what happened and breaks down in front of Andre.

Alex Levy interviews the front liners working day and night to save the COVID-19 patients. Laura’s friends Sam and Emma visit Bradley and Laura at their place. Hal calls Bradley and tells her that their mom has COVID-19. Hal tells Bradley not to visit them as it won’t be safe. A few days later, Hal tells Bradley that their mother passed away.

Kyle gives the news about Bradley’s mom to Cory. Cory tells him to send her flowers from the whole UBA. Bradley is grieving her mother’s passing, which affects her life. Laura and her get into an argument as Laura had called her family uneducated early. The duo get into a huge fight. Their issues affect their news show, and Stella and Mia discuss who can take over the segment. Bradley moves out of Laura’s house and goes to DC.

The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 5 Review: Final Thoughts

The episode further focuses on how the pandemic love goes wrong or doesn’t end up like the characters had wished for. We also see how Cory got Paul Marks on board and how Bradley got to be the host of The Evening Show. The episode is a filler to show what happened 2 years ago and why the equations are the way they are currently.

Yet again, Cory has helped Bradley from getting into trouble. Is it just a professional bond, or do Cory’s feelings overpower him in her case? He rarely says no to her. Despite the rejection, he paid ransom to the hackers so they wouldn’t leak Bradley and Laura’s video. How will all the complexities affect their work equation further?

The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 5 Still 3

The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 5 was a lot of people’s stories during the pandemic. The honeymoon phase of relationships ended,, and when things started getting real, they couldn’t handle the mess. Even though it does provide anything substantial in terms of what the show was meant to be when it started, for a change, having no shallow newsroom drama was a good change.

The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 5 is now streaming on Apple TV+.

  1. I absolutely hate the character of Bradley Jackson. For someone who constantly spouts about integrity and honesty, it’s something that doesn’t seem to apply when it involves her own actions. Cory loves her but deserves better. I just wish he’d stop covering for her. He should have fired her, like he was instructed to do, when she blew off work for weeks during season 2.
