Being based on the Kdrama series I am Not a Robot, watching this web series did feel like a comparison in the beginning. With the isolated life of Aditya which was a result of his inability to believe in people, a young Maithri whose ideas can probably make it big, and an enthusiastic team of robotic scientists who are driven by passion to bring their robot to the market.
The series begins with all these elements slowly opening up one by one which make it seem like you are watching the Kdrama in its shortened version. However, it doesn’t take long for disappointment to hit as you realise that this remake is just a try-hard version of the original which was a bad idea.

While Aditya’s character could be called passable, Maithri was seen as an inventor owning a small shop with only one presentable invention which was her umbrella. Her shop looks like a tea stall with lights that try to attract customers only to leave them disappointed and cannot be worse than what was portrayed.
Meanwhile, her ability to make it big is overshadowed by her ex-boyfriend whose jealousy got the best of him when her little project impressed investors more than his wonderful robot. While Maithri does get out of this red-flag relationship, she is easily replaced by another woman on the team.
If the characters weren’t screwed up enough, the bad “comedy” shown by the father-son duo who also play a supposed antagonist role only makes it worse. They are literally pushing their jokes at the viewers and trying to make their presence as funny as possible with repeated lines and foolishness.

Adding on to this is the screenplay that hurries the whole plot and gives us a sense of abruptness in many places, including the ending. And if this was not enough then Hansika Motwani’s portrayal of a robot only made things worse which in no way can fool a person to believe that she is a robot. However, her emotional scenes towards the end were far better than any other in the whole series.
Summing Up: MY3 Review
While MY3 has tried hard to bring a good entertainer to our screens, it has failed for most of the part. The web series can be an okay one-time watch for those who have not seen the original as it does give a few good emotional scenes. However, for the ones who have seen the original, this can be a bad experience because you will not be able to stop yourself from comparing.
Altogether, this web series has been a disappointing adaptation that was really not required and can leave you confused for most of the part. Thus, avoid it if you want to preserve the memory of the original in a good light.
But if you want to give it a try, watch MY3 on Disney+.
