BTS’ V Love Me Again 1st Win: Kim Taehyung Scores Big Ahead of Layover Album Release

V Love Me Again 1st win has become a celebratory moment for fans. While ARMYs have been waiting for the singer’s solo album Layover to release, Kim Taehyung’s single has already started its winning streak. The singer managed to bag this special win on Mnet’s weekly music program broadcast of M Countdown on August 24, 2023. Amid his major win, the artist wasn’t seen on the music show since he has been in Japan for promotional activities ahead of Layover’s release on September 8, 2023.

The new season of M Countdown had some brilliant performances lined up. Although the big artists who went head to head for the first spot were BTS’s V with Love Me Again and STAYC with their track Bubble. The ultimate win though was scored by Taehyung with a total of 7,864 points. The win is particularly special since it happens to be his first one for the new track that was released on August 10.

The lineup for the August 24 broadcast of M Countdown included the following performances: STAYC Bubble, Fast Forward by JEON SOMI, also a passionate performance by ITZY on their song Cake. Also, a part of the lineup were Aespa performing on Better Things, U-KNOW’s double track performance on Spotlight and Vuja De, THE BOYZ with Passion Fruit, Everglow’s Slay and more.

As for BTS’ V who turned out to be the winner this week, it is expected to be a hectic time given that he will be busy with the promotion of his album. There have been speculations that he will be reuniting with his bandmate, Suga soon and make his first appearance on the latter’s talk show Suchwita. V is the only BTS member who has yet to have appeared on the show. The last member to visit the show was the group’s youngest member Jungkook who promoted his new single Seven on the same.

In terms of details of V’s Layover album, ahead of its release, the singer released two singles, Love Me Again and Rainy Days. The complete album consists of six tracks in total. Details of the songs and the vibes they will be capturing were previously revealed by BigHit including track names such as Rainy Days, Blue, Slow Dancing, For Us and more.

Music videos of Love Me Again and Rainy Days are available for streaming on YouTube. As for the album, it is slated to release on September 8, 2023.
