See You in My 19th Life Ending Explained

In See You in My 19th Life Episode 12, Ji-eum has the unique ability to remember all her past lives vividly. The power gave her the ability to reconnect with her past relationships again in her next life. She meets Ae-gyeong again, who was her niece in the past life, Cho-won, who was her sister and Seo-ha, whom she loved dearly. However, she soon realised that her power had a downside when Ae-gyeong fell sick suddenly. To save everyone from an untimely danger, she had to lose her ability.

Who cursed Ji-eum?

When Ji-eum remembered her first life, in her visions, she saw that someone killed her sister. For a long time, she assumed that Seo-ha, in his past life, was the one who killed her. However, after she remembered everything, she realised that it was Min-gi who had murdered her sister. Moreover, she wanted her revenge on Min-gi and swore to remember each and every moment of her life for eternity until she takes her revenge on him. So, it was none other than herself who caused her to remember her past lives.

Did Ji-eum break the curse? How did she lose her memories?

Ji-eum forgives Min-gi and reveals to him that she wished to lead a normal life. However, to do that, she needs to accept her fate and, with a free heart, recite three words. But if she does do, she will not only lose the ability but also forget everyone associated with her past lives. Nevertheless, she agrees to do so as it is the only way to save Ae-gyeong and keep everyone else safe. As she stood on the bridge carrying the shaman bells, she saw her past self appearing, who seemed to be at peace. They both reconcile, and the curse finally breaks, freeing her from the ability.

Does Ji-eum remember Seo-ha and others?

No, Ji-eum does not remember anything related to her past life, along with the relationships she made. She has no memory of ever meeting Seo-ha, Cho-won or Ae-gyeong. She returns to her normal life, which is previous to her joining the hotel and starts to lead a normal life.

What happened to Ji-eum at the end?

Although she does not remember her past lives, Seo-ha, Cho-won and Ae-gyeong certainly remember Ji-eum since they did not lose any memory. During the final minutes, it is shown that Cho-won meets Ji-eum again at a shopping mall and tries to create a bond with her again. Similarly, she also meets Ae-gyeong in the restaurant and instantly becomes good friends. Finally, Seo-ha shows himself as the CEO of the hotel to who she was applying for the job, but she refuses since she has no experience in the field. Then he asks her to date him instead, which is the same thing she said during their first meeting, creating a full circle of their lives.
