With Karan Johar celebrating his ongoing 25th anniversary year in the Hindi cinema industry, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani trailer reactions are a mixed bag of everything. Promising to return with the biggest Bollywood blockbuster of the year, KJo has assembled his pack of ensemble cast members, with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh leading the big-scale romantic comedy drama saga as the titular characters alongside Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and others.
Releasing on July 4, 2023, at 12PM IST, the much-anticipated trailer has already garnered countless views in the first few hours of its premiere on YouTube itself. The video boasts of a colourful storyline in the classic KJo-esque fashion. Grand movie sets towering behind the cast who have set out to flesh out a love story between two families. As expected, the upcoming July cinematic release written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, and produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, has intrigued netizens to a great extent and Twitter is buzzing with wild responses for the film.
Many Twitter users have pointed out how the Hindi family drama’s entire narrative has basically been unveiled in the trailer itself, and it furthers itself using cliched and overused elements. In opposition to those speaking out critically for the trailer, other audiences are counting on Bhatt and Singh’s chaotically fun chemistry. Yet, the unfolding contrast in opinions has also taken into account how while Bhatt’s fashion looks and eye-catching sarees are spoiling her fans in the best way possible, Singh’s Rocky seems to be a mere stereotypical representation of how Delhi guys are usually reduced to their rowdy image.
While some have already accepted this movie to be a fun ride as “a pure Bollywood family drama masala”, others are picking on it and finding faults with how there are “no strong moments in the trailer and only one glimpse of Dharam ji”. Quite a few netizens are also anticipating the movie’s songs and thus far are counting on them to be “bangers”.

Yet Singh and Bhatt’s fans particularly seem to be rooting for this onscreen pairing and have placed their faith in their favourites to pull this movie through with “Typical Kjo style of emotions, drama, comedy, great music, great cinematography, great aesthetics and the cast”.
