BLACKPINK Jennie’s entering The Idol for her acting debut was a golden move that attracted a lot of K-pop fans to the show. In the series, she played the character of Dyanne, a background dancer in Jocelyn’s troop of dancers, who like all the other people that work for Jocelyn also doubles as her good friend. Later in the show, Dyanne was also tied to Tedros.
The K-pop queen did not get a lot of screentime but, whenever she came on the screen it really lit up. Be it her singing two lines as an audition for Nikki or her getting emotional when Magistrate offers her a music deal, Jennie’s Dyanne has been a consistent and nice character throughout the show. However, what happens to her at the end is really heartbreaking and, we are here to spell it out for you.

What Happens to BLACKPINK Jennie in The Idol?
In the initial episodes of The Idol, the makers tried to give Jennie a villain arc. The singer’s character, Dyanne, being close to Jocelyn was responsible for taking Jocelyn to Tedros’ club. This was later revealed when Dyanne asked Tedros if Jocelyn was a better f**k than her, to which Tedros replied no. Moreover, being a great dancer in Jocelyn’s troop, Nikki wanted to sign Dyanne for the music video of World Class Sinner.
In Double Fantasy we see Jocelyn push herself over the edge which leads her to have a meltdown, leaving the shooting of the music video for World Class Sinner incomplete. But, in the process of shooting, Nikki recognizes how well Dyanne can dance. She later asks Dyanne to sing that seals the deal for her as she is a good singer too.
In the later episodes, Dyanne gets significantly less screentime but, it is impactful nonetheless. We see her visiting Nikki’s Magistrate records to discuss a deal as the record label wants to sign her. Dyanne is extremely overwhelmed by this opportunity. Later, she visits Jocelyn’s house party in episode four to ask Jocelyn for permission to be the face of World Class Sinner. However, before she can pose the question, Jocelyn sees her talking to Tedros while a high Chloe reveals that the two have an intimate history that leaves Jocelyn triggered.
Finally in Jocelyn Forever, our idol takes her revenge on Dyanne. We see Nikki call in Dyanne towards the end of the episode and state that due to legal issues, the label will no longer be able to go ahead with the deal they offered her. This breaks Dyanne’s heart and the dream she was about to live. Before exiting the Magistrate building, she asks Nikki if what is happening to her is because of Jocelyn. Nikki does not reply. Earlier in the episode, we saw Jocelyn visit the Magistrate office but, we never got to know why. Nikki cancelling Dyanne’s deal hints that the visit had everything to do with Dyanne’s fate in the music industry.
