The Zone Survival Mission Season 2 Reactions: Yuri’s Unhinged-ness Entertains All

A new Disney+ show is out, and The Zone Survival Mission season 2 reactions are here to set their verdict for the series. Also known as 더 존 버텨야 산다 시즌2, this all-new season of the mystery comedy variety show left us laughing and learning in the previous season. The cast of season 1 returns once again, the Running Man series Lee Kwang-soo and Yoo Jae-suk, along with Girls’ Generation Kwon Yuri.

The Zone Survival Mission takes the players to different zones with a specific stimulation that triggers challenges for the group. All they have to do is survive for four hours in the disaster-simulated virtual space.

Going to KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), the contestants were put through three zones of challenges in the first three episodes. The Stress Zone, the Safe Zone and the Automatic Zone put the contestants in realistically threatening situations, giving them the tools to deal with cortisol-raising situations. However, the Stress Zone wasn’t about physically testing the participants but letting them deal with situations that cause mental distress. Along with this, they were also told how this affects their life span.

Apart from setting up obstacle courses, they also highlight the problems humankind has been facing, including global warming. With a quick game of golf, they realise how seawater may completely submerge the island. What the show tries to do is make realistic dystopic situations seem deal-able by showing these three people grappling with things and trying to make the best out of this situation. The last challenge takes them through embarrassing situations highlighting how AI can take autonomy away.

For now, this is just embarrassing, and while that may be the beginning of our problems, this situation just brings to attention how problematic it is to continue relying on artificial intelligence when we can barely make sense of the things happening around us. However, fans are excited to see all of these characters come back. Especially Yuri, whose unhinged behaviour has been a cause for the fan’s great humour. There are many people who love the show, and Yuri’s attempt at cheering everyone has got the internet rolling on the floor.

Others have latched onto the other characters, sharing how cute they are, especially when they are on the submerged island, trying to cross from one end to the other. Another highlighted how humourous it was when Kwang-soo and Jae-suk left Yuri behind and ran away, trying to save themselves. Check out some more reactions to see what else viewers are saying.
