The show’s journey may be over on some levels, but that doesn’t mean we won’t carry some of the best Ted Lasso Season 3 quotes with us till the end. The best part of such sports dramedies is undoubtedly the lessons and heartwarming dialogues they leave us with for a lifetime. Jason Sudeikis’s Apple TV+ show began by teaching us all not to be judgemental, but to “be curious” in Season 1, and then went on to bless us with such timeless gems over the course of the trilogy.
Season 3 may not have been at par with the first two seasons in terms of its storytelling, but there’s still no denying that our weekly dose of goodness and warmth is already being missed to the fullest. Wednesdays will no longer be filled with happiness and our regular quota of friendship goals. Regardless of that, we can instead savour what we’ve been granted this season, make the most of it, learn from it and be the better versions of ourselves because ultimately that’s exactly what the series hoped for to leave behind as its legacy.
Some of the Best Ted Lasso Season 3 Quotes We Can’t Forget
1. “I’m a work in progmess” – Ted in EP 4
2. “You should find out before you flip out”. – EP 8 – Higgins
3. “The Eiffel Tower is just a lamppost with a publicist”.
Rebecca (Hannah Waddhingham) really knows her way with words. In Episode 8, she had one of the wittiest things to say in repose to calm down Ted’s insecure suspicions about Dr Jacob possibly proposing to Michelle in Paris, the world’s renowned city of love. To be fair enough, Rebecca isn’t wrong either, and this really spurned our perception of one of the wonders of the world.
4. “You need to stop letting yesterday get in the way of today” – Ep 8
5. Keeley’s Description of “Love Blindness”: “Emotional version of colour blindness where a person interprets red flags as giant green just-f***ing-go-for-it flags”. – Keeley ep 7
6. “We don’t not care. We care very much. We care about who you are and what you must’ve been going through. And from now on you don’t have to go through it all by yourself.” – Ted – EP 9
7. “I know we can’t fix every ache inside of us, but I shouldn’t have to pretend it’s not there either.”
Colin and Trent first properly exchanged their thoughts with each other in Episode 6, titled “Sunflowers”. As Crimm reveals to know all about Colin’s truth, the latter feels a sense of relief in talking to the independent journalist, and finally opens up about his inner pains and anguish. Their conversations definitely hit home.
8. “Restructure society so women aren’t constantly sexualised while simultaneously being crucified for being sexual”
In Episode 8, Keeley (Juno Temple) and Rebecca said some great things that were initiated mind-opening discussions. This is one of them – one of the constant ailments that have troubled women in the patriarchal paradigm that governs the world.
9. “Human beings are never going to be perfect. The best we can do is keep asking for help and accepting it when you can. And if you keep on doing that, you’ll always be moving towards better.
Lesley Higgins has often delivered some great words of wisdom, but this Episode 12 dialogue of his extended to Roy’s consolation is one of the best things he’s ever comforted us with.
10. “I hope either all, or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments, but rather by the strength we show when and if we are ever given a second chance” – Ted to Coach Beard
11. “In parenting, sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. Most of the time you just tie. All we can do is keep playing.” – Ted’s mom in Episode 11
12. “Once you make it to the top of the mountain, what’s left for you but lightning”
While talking to Keeley in Episode 10, Mae states this saying, which could work eater ways depending on the context of the situation. It could mean that reaching the pinnacle of one’s successful aspirations is equally dangerous as it pushes on into the public eye, further on the brink of falling down head first. However, it could also refer to “lightning” as the stunning view from the top that reminds one of how far they’ve made it. Depending on the situation, and how one perceives this, it could fall under either category.
13. “They’re not just footballers, they’re also people. And none of us know what’s going on in each other’s lives.” – Roy’s press conference in Episode 9
14. “They f*ck you up, your mum and dad. / They may not mean to, but they do / They fill you with the faults they had / And add some extra, just for you.”
Mae quotes Philip Larkin’s poem This Be the Verse in Episode 11 when talking to Ted at the pub, as he’s visibly uncomfortable to see his mother having dropped by in England without prior notice.
15. “I’ve finally accepted that air conditioning is a privilege, not a right”
The last episode of the season ends with Ted finally accepting this notion as he sits down to take his flight back to Kansas and meet Henry. It’s not necessarily as heartwarming as the other quotes here, but it sure is hilarious and very well Ted-coded.
16. Ted’s “Believe” Speech in Episode 5
