MONSTA X’s IM has finally created personal social media profiles, and the fans are going wild! Following his departure from the agency Starship Entertainment, the K-pop star is officially set to continue his solo career journey. Previously he used the group’s social media accounts to stay in contact with his fans; however, it is about to become a lot easier to stay connected with his loved ones from now on.
Known as Im Chang-kyun, the rapper and songwriter has been an active member of MONSTA X since 2015. Even though he is no longer in the same company as the other members, he is still a part of the group and continues to be a part of the official schedules. Currently, he is working under Sony Music Korea and announced his arrival on April 2023.
Earlier today, May 16, 2023, the artist launched his personal accounts on social media platforms. He used to make use of the group’s active accounts to promote his solo albums as well. Along with the creation of the accounts, he will also announced his upcoming solo album. It is called OVERDRIVE, and he captioned the post as “Coming Soon” on his new social media account. Apart from the personal accounts, the artist also revealed a website where all the details about his upcoming endeavours would be posted and released.
The artist embarked on his journey as a solo artist with the release of the extended play Duality on February 19, 2021. The digital album consists of five songs, including the lead single God Damn. The artist showed his versatility as an artist through the songs, and it was very well received by fans and the industry. Along with the digital, a physical version of the album was also released in the same year.
Fans are static about the news and have flooded social media platforms with immense love and support for the artist. They are also excited about the upcoming album and have already started to discuss the concept chosen by the artist. Additionally, the artist has made a post to his fans through the newly launched website. However, it is available to members only, and registration is required to access to the content.
