Fanfic (Fanfik) is an upcoming Polish movie that will be premiering on Netflix. Directed and written by Marta Karwowska alongside Grzegorz Jaroszuk, the story follows two teenagers navigating through life to find their truest selves and coming to terms with their changing bodies. The film is based on the novel by Natalia Osinska of the same name. The movie has a total runtime of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. It is shot in Polish; however, English dub and subtitle are available for the viewers.

Fanfic Plot
The plot of the movie follows two high school students in an intimate relationship, and each of them faces personal problems individually. A teenage student faces a major gender identity crisis as she starts growing up. Trapped inside her own body, she feels uncomfortable and looks for ways to change herself. Moreover, she also goes through body dysmorphia and constantly tries to cover up the parts that make her a woman.
In the trailer, she is constantly seen alone and outcasted from other high school students. But she finds solace in one of her friends, who is unaware of her feelings and problems. The relationship starts to get confusing as she finds it hard to accept herself for who she is, which is why she starts to write fan-fictions and drowns herself in them. It becomes a source of her escape from the brutal reality of the world.
The movie will contain LGBTQ themes heavily and portray the deepest feelings and desires of the people go through who are ‘different’ from the rest. Subjects like transphobia, homosexuality, and homophobia will be added to the brink. Additionally, kit was the first time in Poland that a novel explicitly included such topics of discussion that forced a conversation out of the people.
