BLACKPINK is one of the most prolific K-pop bands at the moment, and this Coachella 2023 weekend, they absolutely shattered every expectation with a setlist of killer performances. However, most of all, people were excited to see BLACKPINK Jennie in an outfit that truly made them lose their minds. The band had also performed last weekend and the members were featured in all-black outfits, which were extremely complementary to each other.
However, this time, fans have latched onto the outfits Jennie had worn during the performance. One being a cropped corset-like top that has cutouts, and the other is a strappy white swimsuit-like outfit with a slit skirt and some white platform boots. While that would only have been enough to cause a storm within the Twitter community, her moves and performance during the festival made it all the more clear that she was here to make a mark, and she did.
The band performed for the festival last weekend, too, with their set list consisting of songs like Pink Venom, How You Like That, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, You & Me and many more. However, this was just the beginning because they were also scheduled to perform on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 9:20 PM PT. They would have followed Rosalia, Charlie XCX, 070 Shake and Marc Rebillet’s performances happening before. This weekend, too, the artists played similar tracks and included some solo tracks as well the group ones.
Their set list for this performance included the songs, Pink Venom, Kill This Love, How You Like That, Pretty Savage, Kick It, Whistle, You & Me (with an extended rap verse), Flower, Gone/On The Ground, MONEY, BOOMBAYAH, Lovesick Girls, Playing with Fire, Typa Girl, Shut Down, Tally, DDU-DU DDU-DU, Forever Young. This set consisted of three acts, a prelude and an outro from the last song. All of these songs mostly had an extended intro and sometimes even included some added verses that were never heard before.
BLACKPINK is a K-pop band formed by YG Entertainment and consists of four members, including Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa. The former is the lead vocalist in the band, while Lisa leads the crew as the main dancer. They originally debuted in 2016, with the debut single album Square One which included the songs BOOMBAYAH and some of their other hits. Since then, they have grown to become one of the most popular South Korean bands in the world.
Their album Born Pink became the best-selling album of all time by a female act in South Korea and the first to sell over two million copies. Now, with their performance at Coachella and the fan reactions, it is cemented why that is thought of in the first place.
