The Chris Evans and Ana de Armas starrer action rom-com film’s premiere on Apple TV has drew in many Ghosted Twitter reactions, with most of them focussing on anything but the actual plot. Reuniting for the third time, the two actors had previously co-starred in the Netflix films Knives Out and The Gray Man, making their unit a much sought-after partnership.
Their 2023 adventurous “boy meets spy” story has been directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers. While fans of either actors had hoped for great things with this one, especially counting on their favourites’ shared chemistry, many of them were severely let down by what the movie held for them.
Releasing on the OTT platform on April 21, the movie’s leading actor, Chris Evans, who’s well known for his years’ worth of contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America, had initially promised his fans that several Marvel actors will be briefly appearing on the film. Once the movie came out, and his statement held up its end of the bargain, a multitude of star-studded cameos made their way into the action flick.
The few seconds of screen time enjoyed by his former co-stars Sebastian Stan (played Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson or the Falcon) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) overshadowed the entire 116 minutes long movie. Neither did the storyline and its execution stick with the audience, nor did the leading pair’s chemistry. However, some claim that they couldn’t take their eyes off the striking pair despite it all.

Marvel fans, many of who became Evans’ fans as well over the years, were all about the original MCU trio reuniting. Evans, Stan and Mackie were last seen together on the screen in the 2019 showdown Avengers: Endgame. However, their collaboration as a tripartite unit was most appreciated for their work in the 2014 Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is also unanimously agreed upon as one of the best Marvel Studios’ offerings to date.
