Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a Remake of Which Movie? Where to Watch the Original?

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, the upcoming Salman Khan starrer action drama is set to be released soon. It is directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Salman Khan Films. The film also stars Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde and Jagapathi Babu with an ensemble supporting cast including Jassie Gill, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Bhagyashree, Bhumika Chawla, Aasif Sheikh, Shehnaaz Gill, Abhimanyu Singh, Vijender Singh and many others.

The plot will follow the story of four brothers, who resort to violent ways in order to settle any dispute, whether it’s money-related or anything to help other people. Until Salman Khan’s character falls in love with a girl, who absolutely hates violence. Whether to give up his old ways or to save his girlfriend’s family from a goon, we will see Khan trying to keep it all together, on his own.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a Remake of Which Movie?

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan or KKBKKJ is actually said to be inspired by the 2014 Tamil movie – Veeram. Directed by Siva and produced by Vijaya Productions, it was an instant box-office hit on its release and has also been remade in other languages, in Telugu as Katamarayudu (2017), and in Kannada as Odeya (2019).

The ensemble cast of the film includes Ajith Kumar playing the role of the lead protagonist as Vinayagam, Tamannaah as Koperundevi Jr -Vinayagam’s love interest, Vidharth as Shanmugam, Bala as Murugan, Santhanam as Bail Perumal, Nassar as Nallasivam, Pradeep Rawat as Vanangamudi, Atul Kulkarni as Aadalarasu, Avinash as Aavudaiyappan, Munish as Senthil, Suhail Chandhok as Kumaran and many more.

Still from Veeram

In this film, Vinayagam and his four brothers Murughan, Shanmugham, Kumaaran and Shenthil are like the heads of their village or to whom people come seeking help. They often come across goons & bad people which leads to a violent conclusion to settle the disputes or rather to save themselves.

The main trait about Vinayagam is that he doesn’t believe in marriage as he feels that it might create a rift/distance among brothers. On the other hand, his brothers are secretly in relationships and to be able to seek them forward, they decide to find their elder brother’s childhood love – Koperundevi. While the original girl is already married with kids, they find another woman with the same name and strangely Vinayagam finds himself falling for her despite knowing that she is not his childhood crush.

Still from Veeram

While Vinayagam’s feelings grow deeper, the only issue is that Koperundevi comes from a family that strictly believes in non-violence & distances themselves from anyone that is part of the violent world. In the face of love, even Vinayagam decides to change his ways and become the man that his lover desires, however, trouble comes seeking him.

Vinayagam comes across Aadalarasu, who is hell-bent on killing his girlfriend’s father, due to some personal vendetta. On the one side, he wants to be a peace-loving person but on the other hand, he has to do something before harm comes to Koperundevi’s family. It turns into a fight for love and acceptance in a family that doesn’t want to do anything with him.

While the upcoming Bollywood movie is a remake, there are certain changes that can be seen right in the trailer as well. For example, instead of a father figure, Khan is seen seeking his girlfriend’s elder brother’s acceptance. Venkatesh will be the one playing the role of Annayya Gundamaneni. The creators have certainly made changes to the story accordingly & it will be interesting to see how it will unfold.

Meanwhile, you can watch the film Veeram on Zee5.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is scheduled for a theatrical release on 21 April 2023.
