At the April 16 midnight (as per KST), SM Entertainment released the Perfume MV teaser starring the latest and fifth sub-unit of its group Neo Culture Technology, DoJaeJung (엔시티 도재정 ), marking the union of Kim Doyoung, Jung Jaehyun and Kim Jungwoo’s explosive, yet angelic vocals. The three members have previously showcased their brotherhood under the umbrella of the first fixed unit and overall second sub-unit of the K-pop boy group, the Seoul-based unit NCT 127.
Through this new venture, the trio will be seen in a new light that accentuates the tender side of their artistry, as is also highlighted by the titular theme of their debut album as a sub-unit. The new fixed unit members are doing many things this time. From working on their new fragrance, speaking of their ‘Happy Memories’ together, to them indulging in solo activities like Jaehyun’s golf stroke piercing through our screens, Doyoung steering the wheel, and Jungwoo being his strikingly adorable self.
Their Seoul-based sub-unit (with 9 members) is well known for its disruptive, electronic and noise music brand when it comes to their albums’ title tracks. However, throughout the years, their b-sides on the same album have extended a soft and warming embrace, starkly contrasting the leading singles. The upcoming release will likely serve as yet another break from their ‘construction music’ signature and musically present the three members and their debonair and urbane qualities.

Over the last few days, SM Entertainment has been lending the fans many sneak peeks in the form of concept images that further dive into the tender charms embodied by the unit members. NCTZENs have been leaving comments or tweets on their social media platforms, claiming they “can already sense a bop” or can’t wait for the eargasmic masterpiece to drop on D-day.

The new sub-unit’s first mini album will be released on April 17, 2023, at 6 PM KST. Till then, you can stream the 23-member (present) K-pop boy group’s music on Spotify. The members are also set to hold a special live broadcast before their album’s release to commemorate their debut and count down the last hour before the MV premiere on April 17, 2023, at 5 PM KST.
