The NCT 127 main rapper, dancer and NCT Dream’s leader is ready to shine as a soloist again with the upcoming release of Golden Hour, his second solo digital single via SM STATION: NCT LAB. On March 30, 2023, the first official news about the song broke out once his fellow Dream member, Jaemin, teased Mark’s latest project in a series of behind-the-scenes photographs posted on his Instagram account.
Eventually, the singer/rapper took to his profile and hinted at the track’s arrival too. The constant mentions of the egg emoji later reflected in the concept images of the song and pointed towards an old hilarious memory in the minds of his fans. On April 3, a new set of teaser images dropped on the official social media pages of the K-pop boy group managed by SM Entertainment which pictures him in a new avatar compared to the previous concept photos.
This time, the dancer can be seen donning an all-black outfit juxtaposed with his bright blond hairdo. He’s sporting braids in the teasers, a hairstyle that has been a topic of rage among his fans ever since he showed it off during his sightings at the NCT Dream: The Dream Show 2 world tour. Mark Lee’s well known for the Cheetah being his representative animal, and the same sense of fierceness is reflected in the newly released teaser images as well, as his direct, confident gaze into the camera can easily make anyone feel intimidated.
Other than that, his new look is quite straightforward in these pictures, as the only accessories he’s sworn by are a pair of mustard gloves and a chunky chain choker. His second digital single will also be the sixth overall release of SM STATION: NCT LAB. SM Entertainment has also released a statement detailing the features of the forthcoming digital premiere.
The agency has introduced it as belonging to the hip-hop genre that will use impactful guitar and drum sounds along with Mark’s signature rapping style. It will illustrate witty episodes and is set to be quite different in its approach as opposed to Mark’s first solo single, Child, which brought his sentimentality to the top.

Golden Hour may have the artist looking back to a hilarious event wherein he tried to cook eggs and was ultimately lightheartedly reprimanded by the celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay on Twitter for miserably failing at it. As a result, the new song will show a new side to Mark’s songwriting process, which is bound to take a witty and humorous route, just like the years old incident.
