This latest news related to NCT’s Mark will get his fans pumped. Playing numerous roles like the group’s main dancer and rapper, the 1999-born artist is set to hit the K-pop scene with a surprise no one saw coming – his second solo digital single. His previous, i.e. first solo single, also marked the birth of SM Station’s new division.

SM Station is a digital music project initiated by SM Entertainment in 2016. It became a platform for various artists signed under the South Korean label to release singles, surprise collaborations, and other musical projects that wouldn’t be a part of their respective physical album releases to make their music more accessible to fans. Mark Lee’s first official solo single, Child, released on February 4, 2022, charted the beginning of a new chapter of the same series called ‘STATION: NCT Lab’.
This special project eventually became the playing ground for all members of NCT to come out with much-awaited solo or unit projects. In addition to his solo Child, Mark had also participated in a unit single that became the overall second single of the channel Conextion (Age of Light), which he sang alongside fellow members Doyoung and Haechan. At the same time, Shotaro could be seen dancing to the song in the music video.
As of March 30, 2023, the NCT Dream leader has teased his upcoming second solo, to be released via the NCT Lab platform, titled Golden Hour. Before he took to his Instagram profile to share a behind-the-scenes look at the forthcoming video of the track, his teammate Jaemin shocked the fans by posting a series of clicks featuring Mark on his own Instagram profile, along with the caption “What are you doing?? @ on yourm__ark????????????”, making room for the perfect tease for the fans, who initially had no idea about the single.
Once the official news broke out, Mark, too, posted a video on his profile that merely showed a snippet of the video without leaving any hints about the track’s audio. The video shows him sporting a loose-fitted brown outfit while his entire face is covered with a balaclava, commonly known as a monkey cap, that only leaves the wearer’s eye space open and visible. He’s also wearing funky accessories like long silver chains around his neck.

Three other people accompany him in the snippet, dancing out their hearts to the unheard groovy beat. While two of them are wearing giant fake heads (like the one worn by Michael Fassbender in the movie Frank), the third person is Jaemin, carrying a camera on the side and sporting the same sporty outfit seen on his own Instagram post. However, in this video, he hides his identity by facing the wall, but Mark tagging him on the video is all the proof we need to double-check his identity.
As of now, NCT consists of 23 members and four fixed sub-units – NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and the recently launched NCT DoJaeJung, with a rotational unit NCT U. Reportedly, a new, and possibly the final inclusion in the midst will be the introduction of NCT Tokyo in April.
