This series has garnered quite the hype after its release. And the credit surely goes to good animation, a relatable male lead and a bunch of beautiful anime girls who are sure to start waifu wars.
The anime is directed by Nakanishi Kazuya, who is also famous for his work with Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, Trinity Seven, Strike the Blood, etc. Nexus studio is handling the animation, which despite not being very famous in its field, is delivering satisfactory results as of now.

The Eminence in Shadow Episode 20 Review and Recap – All Powerful Shadow

The 20th episode of The Eminence in Shadow starts with a bang and showcases and leads into one of the best fighting sequences of the series. Notably, Shadow is going head to head against two of the strongest opponents, and he is doing everything except losing.
Moreover, many major things happened in the previous episode. Rose killed her father, the king of the Oriana kingdom, and fled the scene. On the other hand, Mundane Mann revealed himself to be Shadow and started a fight with Beatrix. But in this battle, Princess Iris also joined in as she could not just take a brutal beating lying down. She almost ferally charged towards Shadow with an artefact called the Mithril blade.
This battle results in a brutal beat down where Shadow absolutely mercilessly destroys Beatrix and Iris and humiliates them with his immense power. It almost looked like he had some personal vengeance against them.
But this is all part of the facade that he is pulling. To solidify his reputation as a mysterious yet dark entity, he kind of goes overboard and destroys the whole city as well. Lastly, he even pulls his final move, ‘I Am Atomic’, but at the final minute, he stops because obviously, this was all just a plan to fan one of his fantasies.
But this whole situation resulted in some intriguing outcomes. Princess Iris breaks down completely, as her pride receives quite the blow. Now, whether she will take it lightly and move on or obsess over it and continue to hold a grudge against Cid, we don’t know yet. Beatrix, who came to find Alpha, returns without any progress, and Shadow becomes famous throughout the nation as an evil being who needs to be hunted as soon as possible. Another interesting thing that happened here is the fact that Princess Rose joined the Shadow Garden in her quest to save the Oriana Kingdom.

Verdict
As the last episode of this season of The Eminence in Shadow franchise, the ending was pretty satisfactory. Till the last part, Cid remains a prankster, who really has no idea about his or his power’s impact on the people around him.
He is just someone who wants to live his life as he pleases in a world where he is the most powerful being. This anime might not be for many, but those who like this kind of quirky harem comedy would definitely love to watch it. Watch this anime on Netflix.
