Rapper and music producer, Suga of BTS, has become the newest brand ambassador of the luxury fashion house Valentino, and fans worldwide are ecstatic about it. The artist will be fronting the brand’s latest campaign, ‘Maison Valentino Essentials’, which contains outfits that elevate the necessary staples of men’s wardrobes.
Apart from being known as a member of the world’s biggest boy band, the artist has also been delving into the world of fashion. As haute couture is becoming accessible to the masses and street fashion is turning into the new high-end market, fashion has become an integral part of people’s lives. Celebrities have always been recruited to market the brands, and K-pop idols are the current sensations in the glamour industry.

For the unversed, Maison Valentino Essentials is the project launched by the brand to redefine men’s essential wardrobe collection. Pierpaolo Piccioli is the creative director behind the latest collection. The collection will mainly contain outfits that are a necessary addition to a man’s wardrobe. The clothes are tailored in a unique way that displays the vulnerability of masculinity while reinventing daily wear.
The short video opens with Suga in a classic pink Valentino jacket along with white shorts and pairing it with white shoes. The scene then shifts to the artist wearing an all-white shirt and pants with slicked-back hair, accessorised with a must-have black bag. The next outfit is a simple straight-cut navy blue night suit with white piping accentuating the fabric. Lastly, he appears in a green suit combined with a white shirt underneath.
The outfits are not revolutionary or out of the ordinary, and it is not the brand’s intention to do so either. The colours are bright, yet it does not overpower the person, but seamlessly blend in while making a statement. Suga is definitely the right choice for the campaign, as he is known for maintaining a low-key profile and wearing clothes that do not make him the centre of attention.

Other members of the group are also signing deals with various luxury brands. J-hope has recently appeared at the Louis Vuitton show; V, aka Taehyung, also attended Celine’s Paris Fashion Week show alongside BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Additionally, Jimin has become the new ambassador for Dior.
