Shark Tank India Season 2 episode 21 and 22 premiered on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television on January 30, and 31, 2023, respectively at 10PM IST. Payel Seth is the show’s creative director, while it’s been produced by Studio NEXT, with Ravikesh Vatsa as its writer. The show is now hosted by renowned comedian Rahul Dua, and is joined by six sharks, namely, Anupam Mittal Founder-CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group; Aman Gupta, Co-Founder-CMO of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder-CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, Founder-CEO of Lenskart.com and Amit Jain, Co-Founder-CEO of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.
The official log-line of the latest episode, i.e. the 22nd one reads, “Domestic help solutions by ‘Broomees’, hair care solutions by ‘Ravel’ and safe bee products by ‘Honey Veda’. Will the sharks invest in these startups?”, whereas the previous episode made space for pitches around “Cheesecakes by ‘Cheesecake and Co’, safe art products for children by ‘Dabble’, personalised tailoring solutions for women by ‘Cloud Tailor’ and an e-commerce marketplace by the LGBTQ community called ‘Be Unic’.”
Episode 21 welcomed a positive chain of reaction from the viewers following the ‘Be Unic’ pitch, and messages like “Yay for queer representation” rose high on Twitter. Others even directly referenced a statement made by Simmi Nanda, aka one of the founders and the brand’s mother figure, about a ‘closet’ not being a place to be in, which initiated another round of inspiration among the audience.
Episode 22, on the other hand, brought the focus to Shark Anupam Mittal as he pitched in his deals to the incoming businesses on the show. However, a building pattern tracks down a record of him being “sidelined” as a Shark, and fans have been picking up on these cues for quite some time now. He finally sealed a solo deal with the custom haircare brand ‘Ravel’, but again, his joint offer with Vineeta Singh to the last beekeeping pitch of ‘Honey Veda’ has sparked some heat, as the founders gave away a grand percentage of equity to the Sharks.
