What was once a supporting character from Shrek is now getting a sequel in its titular film titled Puss in Boots The Last Wish. This film is a continuation of the last one, this time following Puss in his element doing his thing before he is forced to retire so he can preserve his last life. Running for 100 minutes, the film is directed by Joel Crawford and distributed by Universal Pictures.

The highly anticipated film will star Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Florence Pugh as protagonists. It will also include Harvey Guillen, Olivia Colman, John Mulaney, Samson Kayo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Anthony Mendez, Wagner Moura, Ray Winstone, Conrad Vernon, Betsy Sodaro and Cody Cameron among other cast members.
Puss in Boots The Last Wish Plot/Synopsis
Imagine a cat with nine lives. That’s Puss in Boots for you. However, he’s down to his last life now. After years of swashbuckling adventure and some blithe miscalculations, Puss has to retire and he is not enjoying it. The synopsis reads, “Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll: he has burnt through eight of his nine lives. Puss sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives.”
However, before there could be any adventure, Puss goes into retirement, living his ninth life in a mundane peaceful life with a bunch of other cats and a small therapy dog. But he cannot be safe for too long. In this journey, he realises that there are people after him, trying to kill him and avenge themselves. Goldilocks has been waiting for an opportunity like this. Now that Puss can be killed, it is easy to overthrow his reign of heroism and set a precedent for all those who want to cross her. She even goes as far as declaring a reward for anyone who can bring Puss back dead or alive.

While Puss would normally escape and defeat his enemies by himself, the fear of mortality has made it difficult to go headlong into any fight. He goes and asks for Kitty Softpaws for help who leaves no chance of teasing him while also making sure, she stays safe on her own. Puss goes on an adventure with Perrito and Kitty to get The Last Wish, the one that will restore all his lives and make him the greatest hero in the land all over again.
