The Glory Promo: Glimpse at Song Hye-kyo and Other Lives Ensnared in the Revenge Drama

The upcoming revenge-themed Korean drama series, The Glory, on Netflix packs in a well-rounded ensemble cast. Depicting a rather a dark and character-driven path of vengeance, the show will pick up on the idea how sometimes hatred “is impossible to get rid of”. Wild anticipation for the kdrama is already setting in not only due to the cast members’ presence, but also the makers of the show, who’ve previously delivered exemplary cinematic experiences.

Directed by An Gil-ho of Stranger fame and written by Kim Eun-sook, the screenwriter of popular romantic fantasies like Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and The King: Eternal Monarch, the forthcoming episodes of the ‘holy tragedy’ are going to have ‘no mercy’ this chilly December. Netflix’s The Swoon took to its Instagram page to tease some nail-biting moments shared between the numerous characters of the show. Let’s take a look at what the series has in store for us.

Meet the Characters of The Glory

Assured to be a major hit of its kind, the cast of The Glory is led by Song Hye-kyo and Lee Do-hyun’s duo. The teaser video of the kdrama has the main character promise others to “slowly wilt and die together”, and while the statement does leave us with some goosebumps, there’s no way of foreseeing what awaits us in the noir storyline ahead of us.

Turning up as the face of the vengeful saga, Song Hye-kyo plays Moon Dong-eun, while her younger persona is portrayed by Jung Ji-so. The former was last seen as Ha Young-eun in Now, We Are Breaking Up (2021), and she initially shot to fame as the rising Hallyu star with her performances in Autumn Tale (2000), All In (2003), Full House (2004), My Girl and I (2005), Descendants of the Sun (2016) and others.

Stepping in as the next major lead, Lee Do-hyun plays Joo Yeo-jung. He’s well known for his roles in Hotel Del Luna (2019), 18 Again (2020) and the live-action webtoon adaptation of Sweet Home (2020). The high intensity photos brimming with overpowering fervour also present Im Ji-yeon as Park Yeon-jin, Yeom Hye-ran as Kang Hyun-nam, Park Sung-hoon as Jeon Jae-joon, Jung Sung-il as Ha Do-young, and Kim Hieora, Cha Joo-young and Kim Gun-woo in supporting roles.
