Bhediya Mid Credits Scene Explained: Does it Have a Stree Connection?

The much-anticipated creature comedy movie Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan has been released in theatres worldwide. Moreover, the film has also marked the expansion of the horror comedy universe created by Dinesh Vijan and further hints at a probable sequel in the mid-credit scenes.

The complete cast of the film includes Kriti Sanon as Dr Anika, Abhisekh Banerjee as Janardan, Paalin Kabak as Jo, Deepak Dobriyal and Sharad Kelkar. The flick has a runtime of two hours and thirty-six minutes and is directed by Amar Kaushik (Stree, Bala), and written by Niren Bhatt.

Bhediya Mid Credits Scene Explained

From what we know after watching the entertaining flick, Bhaskar eventually learns that Anika was the mythical beast, Vishaanu, behind the whole thing. Moreover, before he tries to make sense of the big revelation, Anika gets captured by the corrupt officials in her werewolf avatar. He then transforms into the beast once again, in a heroic fashion, and attempts to rescue her love interest.

The film then shifts to a power-packed fight sequence, generated by special effects, during which Bhaskar saves Anika. However, the century-old saviour of the forest gets injured in the process, and ultimately falls from the same cliff, they met at, in their human forms. The werewolf howls for the final time and mourns the loss of his loved one.

In the mid-credit scenes, we can see Bhaskar sitting with Janardan, who offers him a frozen meet to consume after his werewolf transformation. Furthermore, the bell rings in their house, and Janardan opens the main gate, only to find his old companions Vicky and Bittu. This is the first moment of crossover, which explains the connection of Stree with Bhediya.

Janardan explains that, after confronting the female ghost, his mother sent him to live with Bhaskar, and also advised him to block all the contact numbers from his phone. Moreover, he also mentions that his seizures are still frequent, and remind him of the daunting past. Meanwhile, the energetic duo notices some strange sound from the back room and mistakes it for Janardan’s female partner.

When they finally reach the back room, they find Bhaskar in his werewolf form, and immediately get scared as hell. In response to the intruders, Bhaskar leaves his frozen meat and jumps at the gang, while the screen fades to black. What happens to the notorious set of friends, remains a secret.

The events of the mid-credit scene hint toward the upcoming sequel of Stree, and also reveal a direct connection to Bhediya. Notably, Rajkumar Rao and Aparshakti Khurana have already reprised their role in the franchise, along with Shraddha Kapoor, who appeared in a dance cameo.
