The trailer for the much-awaited musical drama Qala has been released on YouTube and other social media platforms. The musical drama finds the leading female protagonist in a tussle for fame and sacrifice. It stars Tripti Dimri (Bulbbul, Laila Majnu) in the lead role of the ambitious playback singer and is directed by Anvita Dutt (Queen, Patiala House).

The complete cast of the film includes Swastika Mukherjee, Babil Khan, Guru Haryani, Ashish Singh, Avinash Raj Sharma, Neer Rao, Swanand Kirkire, Varun Grover, Amit Sial and Samir Kochhar. Notably, the film has a runtime of one hour and fifty-nine minutes.
The trailer of the musical drama film starts with a talented wanna-be playback singer (played by Tripti Dimri), with a voice of melody that captures the attention of its listeners. The first half of the two-minute six-second trailer finds the singer escalating the steps of fame and success, along with a series of compliments.
The trajectory of the trailer shifts when Qala’s orthodox mother makes an appearance. She immediately starts finding flaws in the hard-earned success of her daughter and starts regulating her practice sessions and recordings. Moreover, the playback singer is further backtracked by the prejudice of the industry, which finds her unfit to become a popular artist.

The trailer is also layered with a deep sense of mystery and ends on a rather dark note. We can feel that the talented playback singer is hiding something from her past, that keeps haunting her present reality. Furthermore, the singer ultimately lands herself with this enigma of suspense and the side effects of fame.
The film features a cast of ensemble seasoned actors along with some debut performances. Babil Khan, son of the late Irrfan Khan will also be seen in the musical drama in a mysterious role. Moreover, national award-winning Lyricist Varun Grover will also make his acting debut. The theme song of the film that has been making rounds on the internet is composed by award-winning musician Amit Trivedi (Udaan, Dev D) and written by Kausar Munir.
