It’s interesting how, regardless of how many seasons or iterations of Too Hot to Handle we watch, it’s always the same. No one, regardless of who they are or what they do, can apparently live without sex for a moment, and everyone is a playboy. All the contestants take a lot of pride in never being in a relationship, and all of them are of the opinion that they will be getting some the first night itself.

Taking itself a bit further, Too Hot to Handle Brazil season 2 goes the extra step and just starts making out the moment they meet. It’s so interesting watching adults be like this, but then again, sometimes I get the distinct feeling that none of them is an adult. This season’s contestants break one of the beds within 15 minutes of the show and immediately go on to talk about who will be doing whom.

With only the first 4 episodes out, you’d expect things to slow down just a little bit – just one tiny bit. But… this is Too Hot to Handle; I guess that’s not how that works. Either way, the hormones are running high, and the hormone-fuelled discussions are equal parts cringe as they are uncomfortable to witness.

Hilariously, however, you see red flags right on the first episode with some of the contestants. It’s hilarious and uncomfortable and silly to watch these contestants not have any idea that they are on Too Hot to Handle, but then again, I am sure your decision-making and any cognitive abilities are seriously hampered when you are always this horny.

As the drama starts to build and unfold and the contestants get hornier, the show brings forth several specialists to help them open up to their connections and to themselves. Some of the discussions are nice and are quite vulnerable to watch. But the moment they are over, our contestants are back to being completely annoying.

But then again, that’s what we are here for, I guess. I think we all know there isn’t going to be anything too deep here, so enjoy the sex and skin and wonder who is going to fight over which man next or who’s going to spend some money for the most unnecessary reason. It honestly comes to a point where you wonder which one between these is going to happen next.

Coming to the drama, the first four episodes have nothing but petty arguing and a lot of unnecessary crying. Plus, when people get angry at each other for breaking the rules and losing money, it never feels genuine. Most of the dramatic bits feel so over the top and silly that you’d surely feel like it’s all fake and made up. Which, I am sure it is, but the audience should get a feel of it being somewhat genuine.

Plus, it always seems like we’ve seen these exact situations come up in other versions or seasons of the show. Thus, none of these new people feels new, and neither do their actions. When the drama itself feels stale, how do you feel invested in it? I must mention, though, the struggles of different sections of society. The race factor comes up multiple times in the show, which actually interested me quite a bit. It’s not something that has been brought up a lot in the show, and Too Hot to Handle Brazil season 2 actually makes a rather insightful point, however briefly.

However, I did like most of Bruna Louise’s fun commentary and most of the time, her chirpy quips kept me going instead of imploding due to cringe.

Too Hot to Handle Brazil Season 2 Review: Summing Up

Too Hot to Handle Brazil Season 2 is every bit of what we have already watched. There’s nothing new, nor is there anything juicy to keep us occupied. The drama is stale and annoying, and the sex isn’t something novel at this point. Watch at your own risk.
