The 2022 film Prey forms a part of the famous Predator franchise. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Patrick Aison, the is produced by John Davis, Marty P. Ewing, John Fox and Jhane Myers under the banner of 20th Century Studios and Davis Entertainment. It is being distributed by Hulu (United States) and Disney+ (International).
Amber Midthunder, who is best known for her roles in Legion, Rosewell and New Mexico stars in the role of the protagonist Naru- a young Comanche warrior woman. She is joined by Dakota Beavers as Taabe and Dane DiLiegro as the Predator. The other cast members include Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush and Julian Black Antelope.

Films from The Predator Franchise to Watch Before Prey (2022)
Predator (1987)
The franchise kickstarted in the 1980s with the iconic film by John McTiernan which was written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. Arnold Schwarzenegger headlined the film that revolves around an elite paramilitary rescue team tasked to save hostages from a rainforest in Central America where they encounter the deadly Predator- a skilful, technologically advanced alien. Predator 2 (1990)
The film was followed by a sequel that was directed by Stephen Hopkins and written by the Thomas Brothers, once again. It stars Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Ruben Blades, María Conchita Alonso, Bill Paxton, and Kevin Peter Hall. Set in Los Angeles, it unwraps ten years after the events of the first film where we see the extraterrestrial hunter, Predator, return to stake a claim on the war-torn streets of LA. Predators (2010)
Although the script for the third movie in the franchise was ready by 1994, it wasn’t until 2009 that the film got a green light to progress. With an ensemble cast that consists of Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, and Laurence Fishburne amongst others, the film is directed by Nimród Antal with a screenplay from Alex Litvak and Michael Finch.
A war between humans and aliens enrage in this movie- A group of mercenaries and militia people find that they are being preserved as a game for hunting on an alien planet filled with various dangerous extraterrestrial creatures.

The Predator (2018)
The fourth instalment in the franchise revolves around a group of PTSD-afflicted soldiers who team up with a scientist to fight the invading pair of Predators from the alien planet as they discover what plans these aliens have for mankind. The film stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, and Sterling K. Brown. It is co-written and directed by Shane Black. The franchise has also had a couple of crossover movies with the other iconic Alien film franchise. Two movies titled Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem were released in 2004 and 2007, respectively.
