Keep Breathing Ending Explained
By the fourth episode, after trying to gather basic needs like food, water and shelter with recurring childhood memories that help and hinder a resourceful Liv, she hikes through the woods in search of the light she saw the night before. At first, she tries to just walk straight in the direction of light.

But she keeps coming back to the location she had already walked through. Therefore, she goes back to the base location to think of a better way to get there, instead of going in circles. She remembers how they were taught to make a compass in the girl scouts club with a magnetic needle, cork and water.
Luckily, Liv keeps the mini sewing kit in her wallet and takes a needle, a foam cork and puts it in the bottle filled with water but it doesn’t work. Then she remembers that the needle needs to be magnetised but where will she find a magnet in the forest? She does find it in Sam’s watch and the needle works perfectly as a compass.

The next day, she takes all her stuff with enough food & water and gets on her way. But the luggage is too heavy so keeps on dropping the stuff out of it to make the bag light and mark her track as well. However, midway she realises that the needle has lost its magnetic strength, when she comes back to the track with her belongings.
Just then, a plane seems to fly over her head as a beacon of hope, Liv also starts running after it to get their attention but instead falls into a caved hole under the ground. She gets injured and a big rock falls on her as well. Slipping in and out of consciousness, a trapped Liv must decide whether to continue fighting for survival or just let go.
Due to her tenacity, she is able to get out of the rock trap but haunted by her mother’s visions she tries to take her own life. However, Liv is not like her mother and instead of taking the pill, she throws it away and lo & behold, it has a way out like a cave. But it opens up at a height and if someone falls from there, it could be deadly.

She still tries to climb out but falls from the height and injures herself more. She wakes up with a broken rib cage and sprained ankle, even then she bites her teeth and gets up to walk in that state. After walking a while she hears some noises that sound like cars but turns out to be a heavily flowing river.
Liv sits at its bank and is finally visited with the visions of her father who console and comfort her bruised self. She then takes a log and throws herself into the flowing water, leaving the fate of her life on it. Due to the turbulent current and cold water, Liv seems to be losing out consciousness.
Fortunately, two people nearby see her in the river and rescue her out of the water. Simultaneously we get glimpses of a pregnant Liv going into labour with Danny by her side. Is it what Liv is thinking about in her last moments or her future? Rescuers try to resuscitate and her eyes open up right before the camera cuts to black, and the audience knows that, against all odds, Liv has survived.

Will There Be Season 2?
Even though Liv manages to survive as told in Keep Breathing Ending Explained, it’s doubtful that we’ll be getting a second season. Firstly, Keep Breathing is a limited series, so there aren’t any plans to go beyond the initial six episodes. Also, it’s hard to imagine the show creating another dire survival situation for the lead character.
In the last few moments, we saw glimpses of her giving birth, whether Liv went back to New York and rekindled with Danny or not, depends on what we want to believe in. Maybe that’s what happened in her future or she got to meet her mother. Overall, the series is like a mindful guided meditation session gone wrong, as you find yourself in the real forest instead of the imaginary one you created in your head.
Keep Breathing is streaming on Netflix.
