Woo Gwang-ho then goes on to tell the story of her birth, he tells her that they were both from two different worlds and their relationship would have never worked out. But, when the young couple conceived Woo Young-woo, Tae Soo-mi realised that they cannot be together and wanted to abort the child. However, Woo Gwang-ho stopped her with the promise that he will abandon the field of law in exchange for the baby and has kept his promise since then. But now he regrets making this promise because he realised that this world doesn’t care about loyalty and only looks at political gains. He regrets that he is unable to help out Woo Young-woo himself just because of his choice.

This conversation takes a turn when Woo Young-woo thinks about the Hackberry tree that can be used in the case and immediately calls Jung Myung-seok. Suddenly woken up in the middle of the night, Jung Myung-seok reminds her about the time and tells her that they’ll discuss this the next day. At Seodeok-dong, the Hackberry tree is announced to be a natural monument. As the residents rejoice around the tree, it is decided that a new route needs to be found for the road.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 8 Review

Extraordinary Attorney Woo episode 8 was another game changer and this episode brings out the past into the present. Choi Soo-yeon has proved that women do support women as she moves up the list of our favourite characters in this show. The support that Choi Soo-yeon and Dong Geurami have shown for Woo Youn-woo has to be the most heartwarming moment in this show. While Jung Myung-seok is also proving why he is a capable mentor as he slowly becomes an idol for the three attorneys under him.

In this episode, we saw the greed of people but also many heartwarming scenes that cannot be overlooked. While the people trying to save a community are not many, they are still capable of standing for the truth and being able to win a trial which seemed impossible. There are many heartwarming scenes in the show but there’s one that will always take the spotlight: Lee Jun-ho and Woo Young-woo. It is finally revealed that nothing happened in the previous episode (a bummer) but at least she confessed to him that she likes him which must have definitely made his heart skip a beat.

Another point I want to talk about is the decision made by Woo Gwang-ho and Tae Soo-mi. Before we take any side we have to know that the two had Woo Young-woo while they were in their early twenties without a career. The university students who have lived a life that cannot be compared, I can understand why they ended up like this.

Before we blame Tae Soo-mi we have to know that she had never known the hardships of life and to go into such a life by leaving behind comfort is not an easy decision to make. And pregnancy at such a young age doesn’t always end up with the right choices. We have to agree that she only made a more practical choice, while Woo Gwang-ho, like he said earlier did make the wrong choice. The spur-of-a-moment promise has ruined his life which he could have avoided.

Finally, the scene between Woo Young-woo and Tae Soo-mi cannot be ignored. The former is like her mother a practical thinker but also has her father’s personality of feeling content and loyalty. The tears in her eyes were happy with a hint of sadness but they were determined to move on. Tae Soo-mi is shocked right now but I think she will move on while looking out for her whenever she can.

What are your thoughts about Tae Soo-mi’s decision? Where do you think her relationship with Woo Young-woo will go next? Let us know in the comments below!

Till then, watch Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix.

  1. Thank you for your review. I think Tae Soo Mi will withdraw her decision to work for the gov’t and indeed silently look out for Woo Young Woo and and she may eventually announce to the public that Woo Young Woo is her daughter.

    • I’m not sure if she will withdraw her decision to work for the gov’t but I am sure that the truth about her relationship with Woo Young-woo will be revealed and she will be left with no choice but to withdraw.
