Jane Austen has to be the writer that everyone wants to adapt to screen or reinvent in a modern-retelling of Austen’s classics. From Pride and Prejudice to Emma, every book by Austen has been converted into a film or series. This time around it is Persuasion, a novel by Austen published posthumously in 1818 alongside Northanger Abbey. It is said to be the last novel completed by Jane Austen before her death, making it one of her most refined and mature works to date.
Produced by MRC, Persuasion is a romantic drama directed by Carrie Cracknell from a screenplay by Ron Bass and Alice Victoria Winslow based on Austen’s book. Ahead of its release, here are some quick things you need to know about the film.

Fifty Shades of Grey famed Dakota Johnson is going to portray the role of Anne Elliot, the protagonist of the story. Alongside her, we have Cosmo Jarvis as Captain Frederick Wentworth, Henry Golding as Mr. William Elliot, Richard E. Grant as Sir Walter Elliot, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Lady Russell, Izuka Hoyle as Henrietta Musgrove, Mia McKenna-Bruce as Mary Elliot, Nia Towle as Louisa Musgrove and others.

Persuasion Plot/Synopsis
The official description of the film reads: “Comedies. Eight years after Anne Elliot was persuaded not to marry a dashing man of humble origins, they meet again. Will she seize her second chance at true love?”. The OTT platform further describes the movie as swoon-worthy, witty and romantic.
