A lot of major subplots kept playing simultaneously and, we are here to give you a quick recap of everything important that happened during the first volume.

Produced by the famous Duffer Brothers, who are also the creators of the show, along with Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Paterson, Stranger Things 4 has actors Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson and Cara Buono and Brett Gelman continuing to feature as series regular.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 Recap

This season, we have a new villain in Hawkins called Vecna (yes, again the name comes inspired by D&D). Throughout the season, Dustin, Steve, Eddie, Nancy, Robin, Lucas and Max are on a hunt to find the real identity of Vecna. It is not until the season finale that we get to know that Vecna is none other than Victor Creel’s son as well as the first child Dr. Brenner had taken under his wing- One.

He was responsible in manipulating a young Eleven into breaking out of Dr. Brenner facility and also caused the Hawkins Lab Massacre. He had asked the young Eleven to join him but, looking at all the bloodshed he created, Eleven did not want to which caused One to attack Eleven. With all her might, Eleven attacked One back, unknowingly opening the gate to the Upside down, sending One spiralling down the Upside Down and turning into the murderous Vecna.

As our Hawkins gang get to know this, Eleven also simultaneously regains her memories of this incident. After Stranger Things Season 3, we saw Eleven has lost all her powers. Thus, to get back the power, she is taken to Dr. Brenner’s Nina Project, where she is put in a water tank to relive her past memories through recordings and gain her powers back.

The Nina Project’s location is not known to anyone. So, a worried Mike, Will, Jonathan and Argyle set off in the first volume to look for Eleven. They also seek the help of Suzie, Dustin’s girlfriend. Meanwhile, Hopper is rescued by Joyce in the Russian prison but, we don’t know what happens to them next.

As for the other major highlights of season 4, we see Vecna’s pattern of attack- he targets people who have some trauma in life and are dealing with it as it makes their minds weak enough to penetrate. Max, who in this season is seen coping up with Billie’s death from the previous season, is cursed by Vecna. And, although, she is not lost like the others, we don’t know how long the group can keep her safe from Vecna’s clutches.

We also see Steve being majorly attacked and Nancy walking amidst Vecna’s world towards the end of Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 as they along with Eddie and Nancy had crossed their way to the Upside Down.
