Mecha Fight Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 12

It was heartening to see this show maintain the level of love and support that it did until the very last episode. The people who appreciate the show will be the first to tell you about the problems that it had during its runtime. We realise that the animation was awful, and the production could have been much better, but the positives in this case far outweigh the negatives. We were in here mostly for the fantastic protagonist, a thoughtful and fresh story, and a show that wasn’t afraid to be campy for the sake of it.

If campy and fun is what you were looking for, the final episode of the show gave you a lot of it and much more. There were more mecha battles, a callback to one of the most entertaining episodes of this season, a satisfying putdown and a whole lot of Leon-Luxion banter. For many, the last part alone is what makes this show stand out one cut above the rest, and it is hard to disagree. The two of them share hilarious chemistry that makes for each episode being an entertaining watch. We didn’t get much of a chance to talk about them because there is not much to talk about, but I hope that this will suffice.

Leon Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 12

Angelica and Olivia were used about as much as they were in the whole season, which is to say, not much. They were there, said a few lines of dialogue each, and were used as eye candy (something I’m also guilty of). At this point, both of them have already done a lot, and their path from here was made quite clear towards the tail-end of the episode, and it would have been interesting to see that had the show been renewed for another season. Alas, no such luck yet, but a man can hope.

Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 12 was pretty much a quintessential episode of the show. Everything but the action and animation was pretty good, and the two bad things are going to draw the most attention from the haters. Yes, the fight with the Black Knight wasn’t up to snuff and could have been a lot better. However, it was also highly satisfying narratively, had Leon on his toes for once, and gave Luxion something to do while maintaining a seed planted by the show in Episode 1. It would be unfair to call this anything but successful in what it wanted to do.

There is a lot of story left to tell here still, and while the show left on a decent enough note, Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 12 was more of an invitation to consume the original source material than anything else. Hell, if there are no animation issues there, and the art is as gorgeous as every fan claims it to be, this might be a show worth checking out even after it is finished. You won’t get to hear “Silent Minority”, the show’s fantastic opening theme, but when you read it, the package should still be good enough. Overall, this was a worthwhile ending to a show that deserved much more attention than it got.

Verdict

Trapped In A Dating Sim Episode 12 was a fitting ending to a show that featured everything good and bad about it wrapped up in a neat package. This one deserves a second look.
