Johnny Depp is currently fighting the legal battle against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The actor charged her with a $100 defamation case after she published an op-ed about their relationship and showed him in a bad light. In the recent hearing, Depp mentioned that days after the article was published, Disney dropped him as Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
The actor said that Disney wanted to be safe after the article was out and tried to cut ties with him. Johnny Depp also mentioned in the court how the allegations by Heard badly affected his career. There’s been news about Margot Robbie venturing into the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise for a long time. However, it wasn’t known for a long time if Depp would return or not.
Johnny has finally answered the big question and confirmed that he would never play Jack Sparrow again. During the hearing of the ongoing lawsuit, cross-examiner Ben Rottenborn said, “The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?”, reports IGN. To this, Depp answered, “That is true.”
