Ranveer Singh on Doing Jayeshbhai Jordaar, “Want Families to Visit Theatres and Enjoy a Film Together”

Jayeshbhai Jordaar might just be the family entertainer we have been waiting for! And, it is not just us who is vouching for it but, Ranveer Singh who plays the titular role in the film is saying so too! The upcoming social drama-comedy is written and directed by Divyang Thakkar and produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films. With the COVID-19 pandemic taking over the world like a storm, the film had previously been postponed but, with the release of the official trailer on May 19, 2022, audiences can finally ease up that the film is going to hit theatres soon.

At the Jayeshbhai Jordaar trailer launch event, actor Ranveer Singh talked about what kind of a film we are roped in for as well as the reason why he ended up doing this latest Hindi-language film. On being asked what type of film Jayeshbhai Jordaar is, Singh went on to talk about how there has not been a family entertainer on the big screen for a while that both the young and the old can sit together and watch.

The Gully Boy actor said, “It’s been a while since a family entertainer has hit the big screen. Films that will make you laugh but also cry a little and end up giving a message but, will through and through entertain you. A clean family entertainer where the old and the young generation can go and watch it together. So, I wanted to be a part of these types of films.”

Singh further added, “I am going through a phase where the pandemic happened, so I think people should visit the theatres- not one or two people but as a group, a family, children, grandparents and, enjoy a film together. That is exactly the type of movie Jayeshbhai Jordaar is.”
