World’s End Harem Episode 8 Overview
World’s End Harem or Shuumatsu No Harem in original Japanese is an Ecchi, Sci-fi, and Harem anime developed by Studio Gokumi of Tsuredure Children fame, alongside AXsiZ, which is known for shows like Seiren. The anime is based on a manga of the same name written by Kotaro Shono and LINK. This episode is also known as Shuumatsu no Harem Episode 8.
The series is directed by Nobuta Yuu, who has previously been involved with the productions of Bokura No and High School Fleet. The show was originally going to premiere in the Fall 2021 season of anime but was postponed to Winter 2022 due to some behind-the-scenes issues. World’s End Harem Episode 8 Review- This Is Going To Be A While
Getting last week out of the way first, I stand by everything I said about that episode and regret watching it to the full. Watching the latest episode just affirmed that feeling, as almost nothing that happened here was related to what happened in the previous episode, except Doi getting a little more aggressive and confident about picking his partners. The show could have done that in a way that didn’t waste an entire episode for harem related subplots, but that should have been accepted as a fact when one started watching this show.

While we are on the topic of wasting an episode, let’s talk about how we are nowhere near the subplots even interacting with each other, let alone getting solved. We are already more than two-thirds of the way through the series, and it could only mean one of two things. Either the show will make a mad rush through all the final episodes and fail to end its story satisfactorily, or there will be a second season that clears it all up. Without commenting on the show’s current popularity, it is obvious which one is the correct option in that scenario.
The latest episode was, once again, all about Doi and his exploits. He probably has spent more time as the show’s focus than Reito, which is both a good and a bad thing. Good because he is an interesting character whose turn to being a confident person has been good. However, the show makes it obvious that Doi’s plotline isn’t getting us anywhere close to solving the mystery of this world and how the MK virus was created and is thus acting as nothing but a character filler.

World’s End Harem Episode 8 was all about Doi enacting revenge from people who wronged him in the past. The show has spent a long time telling us that he is a good person, and this episode made sense in that regard. While he did punish his enemies, he never went too far from his senses and humanity. You see fleeting moments of corruption within his psyche, which might be something that’s explored later on in the series if we get that second season.
Reito and co. also got a precious minute of screentime, and what they are trying to do is much better than the story the show is telling with Doi. Doi is being built up for the future, which doesn’t matter if the show’s present, Reito, doesn’t manage to retain the audience every show desperately desires. At the end of the day, however, most of the audience is here to see some sexy times and cute girls and insignificant protagonists, which the show delivers every episode. In that way, this was a successful episode that also managed to sneak in some plot. Could you ask for anything more?
Verdict
World’s End Harem Episode 8 was good for what it was, a revenge story with some plot mixed in. The show is going nowhere fast, which is starting to be a concern.
