The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Ghosts and Back Pain

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 5 is called ‘Ghosts’. Directed by Tucker Gates, Erica Lipez and Adam Milch wrote the 54 minutes episode. The series stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Néstor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, and Julianna Margulies.

The synopsis reads – The UBA team head to Vegas, where past misdeeds continue to haunt them.

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 5 Review Contains Mild Spoilers

After failing to impress with the previous episode, The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 5 ‘Ghosts’ does very little to leave an impression. Alex Levy is freaked out as Maggie Brener is all set to release her book on Alex. Cory’s job is at stake as the network is not happy with the action taken by Hannah’s father. Bradley is enjoying a good time with Laura. Stella and Yanko are at the receiving end of racist remarks.

The episode gives us some insight into how problematic Alex can be. All she cares about is her reputation and the best show she puts up about herself. Bradley-Laura’s relationship is not a secret to someone, and we might see something major happening regarding them in the upcoming episodes. Mitch and Paola work on her documentary where he opens up about his past.

I am still trying to make sense of what the makers want to highlight in the latest season. There’s no Me Too story anymore; the racism and COVID-19 scenes only make a guest appearance. We are on the fifth episode, and the writers are still focused on highlighting Alex’s mess. It is getting repetitive now.

‘Ghosts’ means the ghost of the past that’s troubling Alex, and hence, she’s losing her mind over Maggie’s unreleased book. But what’s with the severe back pain she had in today’s episode? What importance does that add to the story? She’s a debate moderator, but unfortunately, she can’t keep track of her life. Jennifer Aniston has acted quite well in today’s episode.

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, the episode answers nothing. More random plots are added that leads to additional confusion. If it’s the same in the sixth episode, I must say, the season can turn into a disappointment. The progress of the plot is as stunted as the growth of Alex’s personality!

The fifth episode is now streaming on Apple TV+.
