How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom Episode 11- The Review

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom Episode 11 Fight Scene

Whoever said war doesn’t do any good for anyone is a big fat liar. War was great for making an anime worth watching, that’s for sure! The political side of How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom has always been the best part of the show, and whenever it’s featured more, the show really shines as a unique one in a sea of familiar clones. Since the civil war has mostly pushed any romantic side-adventures to the side, every episode has been even more exciting to look out for.

Since it has started leaning towards its war and strategy aspect, the show has had to focus upon the continuity and sensibilities to remain interesting while not being too over the top and unbelievable. I believe the showrunners managed to do that successfully by sprinkling some hints here and there about various issues that might come up in the future. At times, it does lean towards a lot of dialogue to tell us what happened without employing the resources to show us, but it is not very noticeable if you’re not actively looking for it.

Speaking of “not very noticeable”, The animation shortcuts had improved this time from the last outing. How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom Episode 11 featured a decent amount of action, and it didn’t look as janky as the last episode. Since that was my most significant complaint with this show, I’m happy to see that the animation quality didn’t stay the same old awful slideshow as the last episode.

We saw Vargas get outwitted by Souma in the last episode, so it is no secret that he was made to bow down in this episode. However, I will say that King Gaius, the ruler of Amidonia and the primary antagonist of this season, is a bit of a dumbass. He is being outsmarted and outmuscled by a salaryman teenager in his homeworld despite having decades of experience (miss)managing a kingdom. That issue with the show’s writing is never really addressed, as Kazuya is just casually smarter than most people in this kingdom.

The show wouldn’t work if we paid too much attention to this fact, so we just have to pretend that the average IQ in Elfreiden is 50, if not even less than that. Still, I liked the callbacks to prior episodes made in How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom Episode 11 and some future teases that are very juicy and enticing. Is it possible to have the second season made by a studio with a higher budget and better pacing? Because I think that the show will retain its audience very well in that case.

There has always been an excess of exposure in this show, and How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom Episode 11 was no better in that regard. At least, this time, it came at a relevant time and not randomly at the start of the episode. The series has been moving at a breakneck speed, and the direction this conflict has headed towards in such a small amount of time has been nothing short of blistering. Most wars probably don’t end this quickly, but then again, have other countries tried putting a civil servant in charge of the army? It might just work.

Verdict

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom Episode 11 was was a very fun watch, and the various twists and reveals were intriguing, to say the least. Even the animation was decent this time around, so no major complaints. Can’t wait to see how Gaius gets destroyed.
