Another almost unbelievable story of Sarma Melngailis and conman Anthony Strangis, this Netflix four-part docuseries is an insane ride from start to end. Somewhere down the line, the insanity of the story might make your mind spiral as you see a man being able to manipulate and control an independent and celebrated restauranteur and owner of a famous restaurant in New York City. It’s a fascinating story that will keep you dangling on its every word and, till the very end, it becomes difficult to look away even for a second.

The Tinder Swindler

This series made the most noise after its release on Netflix, and for good reason! This British true crime documentary series shows the story of Israeli conman Simon Leviev, who conned multiple women on the dating app Tinder and swindled their money to finance his lavish lifestyle. It’s a helluva ride from start to finish and offers a chilling watch, and although it is extremely heartbreaking to see these women talk about their ordeal, it still makes for a dramatic and entertaining watch for avid true crime fans.

Generation Hustle

Although this isn’t a romance scam show, the documentary series encompasses different youngsters who, in order to get quick fame and fortune, went down the scam route before coming under the police’s radar. There’s a different story for everyone to latch on to, and it’s a fascinating documentary series that will leave you in awe. It’s extremely addictive because it goes deep into the conmen’s psyche and explores the what and why of the situation. Although it’s not exactly an investigative documentary series, it’s a very interesting and different watch that will keep you hooked.

Love Fraud

This true crime miniseries follows the romance scams of Richard Scott Smith, a man accused by multiple women of seducing and manipulating them in order to take out credit cards in their name and bleed them dry. The surprisingly empathetic show goes in-depth into the victims’ situations and breaks down the entire situation effectively. There’s a lot going in favour of this show and you won’t be able to look away from the absolutely shocking series of events.
